The silent majority has spoken. A new Morning Consult Poll finds that 58% of Americans want the military brought in to help police deal with riots, with 30% opposing the measure.

Asked if they supported “Calling in the U.S. military to supplement city police forces,” 33% said they strongly support the measure and 25% somewhat support it for a total support of 58%, while 19% strongly oppose and 11% somewhat oppose the measure.

The survey also found that 71% of Americans supported using the National Guard as a way of addressing “protests and demonstrations” in U.S. cities.

Even a majority of Democrats (63%) support using the National Guard while plurality (48%) of Democrats also support using the U.S. Military, while 43% of Dems oppose the measure.

The poll validates President Trump’s assertion that most right-thinking Americans want to see the violent unrest that has plagued American cities extinguished.

“We are fortunate that Trump isn’t the fascist the media claims him to be,” commented Mike Cernovich. “Right now the mood of the country would be completely in support total militarization of cities. (Compare Tweets to polling. There’s almost no measure that public would find too extreme).”

That is agreement with the arsonists, looters etc.

President hiding in cellar out of fear, I suspect his rights are being violated.

Stand with the terrorists is noted.

That's a little harsh, Cyni. I understand Tommy's concerns, they're the same as mine.

President hiding in cellar out of fear...

The Secret Service has pretty much just one job, and they did it. It's doubtful that Trump wet his pants and demanded safety, more likely the other way around.

It IS time to take off the kid-gloves.

They're supposed to catch me printing out $20 bills.

I just printed out five more so I can go to happy hour and buy a round or two.

Waste of printer ink, Fred.

Happy hours are illegal here in Indiana, maybe just Allen County, I don't remember. Too many happy hours back in the day, I guess.

When I drove big truck out of Chicago in late 90's, I was going thru a DUI checkpoint on secondary road in south suburbs. The cops waved me thru since I was working.

They had a couple of cars on the side and the drivers of said cars had their heads bowed. Hard times for them. ;)

I got a DUI sometime during the Clinton admin. Only time I'd been in jail for a legitimate reason. Had it been a couple of months earlier before the legal limit was lowered to a ridiculous level, I would've walked without charges.

I guess a couple of beers in an hour will get you put away now. I paid my dues and it was over. The FAA was less upset about it than the FWPD and Indiana was. Got my pilot's license back before my driver's license, if memory serves.
