Another negro coming along saying, in effect, whites need to do more for blacks, reach out more to black voters, put the negro family back together again. All white politicians have done for 40 years is pander to nonwhites and white constituents be damned, but I guess it's still not enough yet :-s

What about Chicago? The last Republican Mayor of Chicago was Big Bill Thompson. And he was just as corrupt as the Democrats are today. ;)

I am not so sure that Chicago had quite the same trouble with blacks when Bill Bill was Mayor. ;)
William Hale Thompson was an American politician who served as mayor of Chicago from 1915 to 1923 and again from 1927 to 1931. Known as "Big Bill", he is the most recent Republican to have served as mayor of Chicago. Historians rank him among the most unethical mayors in American history, mainly for his open alliance with Al Capone.
