Mr. President: If Minutemen Are Vigilantes, What Do You Call 500,000 Illegal Aliens Demanding Rights?

By: Citizen Conservative: on Apr 10, 2006

When the Minutemen set up shop at the Arizona border last year to call attention to the illegal alien loophole in US Homeland Security, President Bush foolishly chided these brave patriots by calling them vigilantes. Although chagrined at being deserted by the man who has the constitutional responsibility and authority to defend our borders, the Minutemen dug in their heels and persisted. And persisted.

Their Yankee determination to do the right thing was rewarded when President Bush finally sent additional border patrol agents to Arizona. Even the Mexican government was motivated to pay greater attention, at least temporarily, because of the due diligence of heroic Minutemen.

Before the Minuteman took their courageous stand, open border advocates and anti-American liberals insisted it was “impossible” to stop illegal immigration. Best to just accept reality, learn Spanish, and switch to rice and beans as food stables, according to the leftists and Hispanic racists.

Thank God, the Minutemen PROVED illegal aliens CAN be stopped, thereby delivering a great victory on behalf of all American citizens.

Now, with hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants and advocates taking over the streets of American cities and demanding rights they are not entitled to, where in the hell is our alleged President?

How is that a few hundred retired seniors with lawn chairs and cell phones are vigilantes, while 500,000 people with no legal or moral basis for being here are able to romp through Los Angeles and Dallas, without so much as a peep from Mr. Bush?

Does Mr. Bush even understand that America is on the brink of civil war? Must violence and bloodshed erupt before this president secures the borders and takes appropriate actions to remove those here illegally?

One of the selling points of NAFTA was increased economic success in Mexico would reduce the rush of illegals to the USA.

After well over a decade of corporations, both large and small, using illegal labor without any severe penalties has made them virtually essential.

Imagine the head of Tyson or Marriott being handcuffed and perpwalked for hiring illegals. We didn't do that. In fact, as illegals moved into the restaurant and landscaping and construction, employers have become dependent upon them.

As of right now, they're here and they're staying. There's no constituency to ship 'em out.

And to avoid creating an permanent underclass, the only solution is legalisation/amnesty/citizenship access. Otherwise, guest workers don't leave, as we see in Europe, and if denied the benefits of citizenship, the results could be volatile. But, we do engage in self inflicted madness; driver's tests and voting ballots in Spanish, schools where the primary language becomes Spanish etc etc. Face it, for all intents and purposes, the USA is now a bilingual society with it's most significant minority component coming from the detritus of the Spanish Empire.

The polls indicate otherwise. The problem is not the constituency, the problem is a serious lack of representation in D.C.:

According to numerous surveys and polls, Americans are not in favor of the mass adoption of all these aliens into our national family as brothers. Gallup Poll: 80% want tougher immigration policies. Quinnipiac University Poll: 62% do not want it easy for illegals to become citizens and 72% do not think illegals should have driver’s licenses. Time Magazine: 72% want major penalties on employers of illegals, 70 % believe the threat of terrorism is increased by the presence of illegals and 57% advocate the use of the military on the border. NBC/Wall Street Journal: 59% are opposed to a guest-worker program. IQ Research: 92% said that border security should be the number one priority.

Studies of various demographic groups also show opposition to rewarding aliens for being in the country illegally. When Arizona’s Proposition 200, which denied state services to illegal aliens, was passed just two years ago, it received most of its support from the poor and minorities. Not surprisingly, 72% of those from families of less than $15,000 wanted the state to cut back on benefits to illegals. Exit polling recorded that 65% of blacks, Native Americans and Asians favored the measure. Interestingly, 47% of the state’s Latino citizens voted for Prop 200.

The Border Patrol agents want to round them up, and have done, but Asa Hutchison told them to let them all go.
