SAN ANTONIO — Felony charges are pending after a man who refused to put on a mask in a hardware store got into an altercation with the county judge who wrote the mask order.

Surveillance video caught the confrontation when an employee asked the man to put on a mask. According to authorities, the man refused, and that’s when Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff stepped in to explain the policy, and offered the man a card.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said that’s when the man “forcefully” slapped the card out of the judge’s hand. The incident happened at the Lowe’s off I-10 and Callaghan Road around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Poster Comment:

"Maskless man" is facing FELONY assault charges because slapped an unwanted business card from the hand of a nosy busybody judge.

Every cop in the county is searching for this dangerous felon who got above his raisin' and committed the heinous crime of Contempt of a Mandarin.

Seems at least half of Texas wants to ruin this man's life. But that's OK -- all that really matters is that the judge made it home safely.

The article doesn't say just how grave the judge's injuries were or what hospital he was treated at or whether he is expected to make a full recovery. Or maybe he didn't even go the hospital -- maybe he was just treated by EMTs at the scene of the crime? Texans are pretty tough, you know.

Do you think the charges will stick, counselor? Will they try to get him to plead guilty to some other less serious (but still bogus) charge?

This judge's "order" in Section III states "Consistent with Executive Order GA-26 issued by Governor Greg Abbott, no civil or criminal penalty will be imposed on individuals for failure to wear a face covering."

I saw zero "assault" even after watching the video several times.

Bexar (pronounced bayer) county needs a county judge made of sterner stuff.

sick losers

The Internet has enabled the flourishing of countless subcultures, from the harmless to the less so. Lately, one of the latter groups has begun to break into the mainstream: the “incels.”

“Incel” is short for “involuntary celibate,” and as their self-imposed name implies, these mostly young men have come to define themselves by their inability to find a sexual or romantic partner. Men who identify as being #ForeverAlone have gathered online in forums such as Reddit to trade stories of woe.

These communities tend to be self-reinforcing. Members believe that their looks or personal traits have consigned them to lifelong loneliness, and similarly downbeat peers are always willing to add more fuel to that fire. And the incel community has developed elaborate, and elaborately misogynistic, theories to blame others for their plight, centered on the idea that women are shallow, stupid and cruel — exclusively choosing only a handful of the most attractive men to be with and disdaining the rest. All men should deserve a chance with women, incels tell themselves, but some men have all the luck, while they get left out.

I watched a documentary about the rock band "Rush" a couple weeks ago. At one point Gene Simmons (of KI⚡ ⚡, lol) the Israel->NYC transplant, was labasting the happily married boys about retiring to their hotel rooms after a gig, wondering if they were sodomites or into farm animals because they chose not to partake in his (Simmon's) nightly million dollar whorefest.

Incel is an attack on anyone with morals, anyone not married anyway.

OMFG, Lod & 4um. Y'all know that I was smart enough to look that up before I posted that stupid question. It was so stupid and so far outside the "Limits of Reasonableness" that I dismissed it offhand.

I thought I spelled it wrong, so I poked in "incell" which turned out to be some bullshit lithium battery company.

My God. The only hope left for this country is "get into the killing zone." These assholes are so virulent that they need to be disposed of. I'm sure that I can't be the only person thinking that way.

I knew this woman that lived in Manhattan. She had a 8 year old boy. She had him in a private school since public schools in NYC are in the dumps.

She was working two jobs to make ends meet and pay the tuition for her kid.

She also had a Nanny and that cost extra.

She wanted to send her kid out here to me so she could go to Syria and work for the U.N. as a cook.

I put the kaibosh on that one real quick. :-/

Francis Farmer is a new one to me.

Lobotomy. Seriously, sad movie. That's what Seattle does to people, I guess.

OK Col. Dakkie.

The arty has started downtown, again.

I can fix this. It won't be pretty. Step one is to shut down the cell towers within a 10 mile radius.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrap. Bring in the garbage trucks, rinse, repeat.

Problem solved.

You'll probably have to hit reload to get past the blank screen. It's the snowflake warning.

This is damned timely, if nothing else.

The standard version of the Frances Farmer story goes like this: An idealistic young actress challenges the hypocrisy of her world and becomes the victim of a spiteful mother, a vengeful Hollywood, and a cabal of callous and arrogant psychiatrists. Together they force her into a state mental hospital, where she is brutalized by electric shock and other barbaric treatments; raped by orderlies, fellow inmates, and soldiers from a nearby Army base; and eventually lobotomized.

Allegory...Seattle

Sorry, couldn't resist :)

Disorderly Conduct

What's that come down to? Maybe $100 fine? ;)

the max fine is $500.

If the defendant refuses a trial by Jury, then it all boils down to what the Judge thinks about him slapping a business card from the hand of the other Judge. ;)

We worked "The Who" 5 or 6 times in he 80s and 90s. It was always at smaller venues like The Vic Theater.

Roger Daltrey would smash his guitar at the end of the show.

holdings, once again you are full of shit.

I used to be in a hurry, then I figured out I was just getting nowhere fast.

I'm impressed, counselor!

But don't don your laurels before they bloom -- if the judge succumbs to his injuries, they could still charge the guy with Murder 2 or Manslaughter.
