that's going to make for some slick walking/driving/riding in a rain storm. maybe the first black to have a resulting accident will sue the city into oblivion.

When I worked for State of Illinois and we were on crack and joint sealing, we did a short stretch of Golf Road east of the traffic circle at Wolf Road.

That highway had so many cracks we literally covered it with tar.

Doing that one thing removed the ability of cars to stop when the pavement was wet.

They were forced to do an emergency contract to mill and overlay that road. ;)

When you said your were on crack, it took me a moment to understand properly.

That was quite an operation.

One time we were on Golf Road along an area the EJ&E railroad line crossed over. We were doing the right lane first because of the crown in the road the tar would flow to the right.

I was driving truck with tar kettle behind it. There was a truck ahead of me with air compressor and we had a guy with a wand that was blowing out cracks.

He went out in the left lane and a car had to swerve to keep from hitting him.

I opened the door and stepped out on fuel tank and hollered, "You better pay attention to what you are doing or you're gonna get creamed!" :-O
