The last known Confederate monument in California, placed along Highway 99 near Bakersfield almost 80 years ago by the United Daughters of the Confederacy, has been removed without fanfare or fuss. The 800-pound memorial celebrating Jefferson Davis as the “Father of National Highways” was hauled off to a weedy outdoor storage area and fenced off from public view behind the Kern County Museum. ALSO IN CALIFORNIA A couple recorded defacing a Black Lives Matter mural that was painted in front of a California courthouse has been charged with three counts, including a hate crime, prosecutors today announced. David Nelson, 53, and Nicole Anderson, 42, are each facing charges in connection with a July 4 incident in Martinez, a city about 25 miles from San Francisco. The decision to charge the couple was made by officials with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's office. Nelson and Anderson are each charged with violation of civil rights, vandalism, and possession of tools to commit vandalism. If convicted of the charges, the defendants--who share a Martinez address--face up to a year in the county jail. Had they, on the other hand, desecrated a Confederate monument, they would be freely going about their business right now. IN MARYLAND Baltimore protesters pulled down a statue of Christopher Columbus and threw it into the city’s Inner Harbor on Saturday night. IN THE GOOP A TREASURE? As North Carolina workers chopped down the 75-foot Confederate monument on the Capitol grounds in Raleigh they found something underneath. They discovered a rusted metal time capsule that was buried beneath the cornerstone of the Confederate Soldiers Monument on Union Square in 1894. Having cracked open the weathered capsule with a hammer they sorted through its muddy contents and found a wooden box, a stone allegedly from Gettysburg, two buttons horsehair, goop, and a goop soaked newspaper clipping from The Charlotte Democrat listing the capsules contents to include a lock of Robert E. Lee’s hair, a coat button and rosebud believed to be from Lee’s coat, and a strand of hair possibly plucked from the tail of Lee’s horse Traveller. STONE MOUNTAIN INVADED A large mob of gun toting blacks marched through Georgia's Stone Mountain Park, calling for the park's massive Confederate carving to be removed. The park usually holds a Fourth of July laser show and fireworks display with the carving as a backdrop, but this year's presentation was canceled due to the COVID-19 plandemic. ALSO IN GEORGIA The Henry County Commission on Tuesday approved removing the structure, which has sat in the McDonough Square for 120 years, in the next 60 days. The matter was originally intended to be settles by voters in November. But the politicians simply do not trust the voters to "do the right thing." ONLY GENERAL LEE NOW STANDS The Confederate Soldiers and Sailors statue and JEB Stuart statue in Richmond, Virginia were removed this week. ALSO IN VIRGINIA James Madison University is renaming three buildings that bear the names of Confederate leaders. The University’s Board of Visitors voted to change the names of three halls and has already removed signs for the buildings on the quad. IS MISSISSIPPI SENATOR FIGHTING FOR CONFEDERATE MONUMENTS? As the House is moving along a draft Legislative Branch spending bill that would mandate statues of Confederates and others “with unambiguous records of racial intolerance” be removed from the Capitol, the top Legislative Branch appropriator on the Senate panel, Chairwoman Cindy Hyde-Smith, is not calling for the removal of Confederate statues. This is setting up a fight when it reaches the Senate chamber. Hyde-Smith, a Republican, has said it’s not up to Congress to decide whether Confederate statues should represent certain states in the Capitol. MEANWHILE MISSISSIPPI'S OTHER SENATOR Roger Wicker, the senior GOP US senator from Mississippi said Monday that the decision by his state to change its "divisive" flag with the Confederate emblem was long overdue. He also praised the decision by NASCAR to ban the Battle Flag at its events as "absolutely the right thing to do." ALSO IN MISSISSIPPI Monday night, Lafayette County Supervisors voted unanimously not to move the Confederate statue from Oxford Square. The vote happened in a meeting where the issue was not on the agenda. WALMART TRIES TO BUY MONUMENT REMOVALS Walmart has donated $100,000 towards efforts to remove Arkansas' Confederate statues at the U.S. Capitol. NORTH CAROLINA SCHOOL VOTES REBELS NO MORE Parkwood High School will no longer be called the Rebels. The Union County Schools Board of Education voted Tuesday night to change the school’s mascot and nickname. The vote passed 6-2. The “Rebel” previously used in Parkwood High’s logo was an image of a confederate soldier. ALSO IN NORTH CAROLINA The Sons of Confederate Veterans has raised a 20-foot-by-30-foot Confederate flag on an 80-foot pole near Interstate 40 in Burke County on Friday. The area is between Asheville and Winston-Salem. The large Confederate Flag is on private property. The Flag cost nearly $800. Wendell Hildebran, the mayor of the nearby town of Hidebran, said he's against the Flag and the Southern Heritage that it represents. SKALLYWAG INTERVIEW During an interview with Fox News Radio, Lindsey Graham said it "made perfect sense" as he defended NASCAR for removing Confederate flags. CONGRESS WON'T LET THIS GO House lawmakers are attempting to allocate $1 million in a defense spending bill to rename US Army bases that honor Confederate. The total $695 billion bill, one of a dozen scheduled to be considered by House Appropriations subcommittees this week, includes provisions that would allocate one million dollars "for expenses for the renaming of Army installations, facilities, roads, and streets named after confederate leaders and officers." President Trump still maintains that he will VETO this legislation if it passes. According to multiple reports the Illinois auto museum said it will continue displaying the iconic car from the "Dukes of Hazzard" television show. REST IN PEACE Hugh Downs, who co-hosted 20/20 for two decades and NBC’s Today Show from 1962 to 1971, has died at the age of 99. At one point, he held the world record for having appeared on TV in the US for the most hours. HE WILL BE MISSED Charlie Daniels, the singer, songwriter and bandleader known for his down-home persona and his blazing fiddle work on hits like “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” died on Monday in Nashville. He was 83. Is the COVID “Spike” Fake News? Dr. Ron Paul Has been actively practicing medicine for more than 40 years. For 20 of those years, he served in the United States Congress. Additionally, Ron Paul was the nominee for the Libertarian Party in the 1980 Presidential race. He sought the Republican nomination in both 2008 and 2012. On July 2, Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued a decree ordering face masks to be worn throughout the state, whether indoors or outdoors, when six feet cannot be kept between people. In the governor’s decree, he referred to an increase in the number of cases of Covid, an increase in the positive test and an increase in hospitalizations as an excuse to force people to cover their faces in public. This step is not only a violation of civil liberties of all Texans. Abbott may have based his order on inaccurate information about the “rise” in Covid’s affairs due to the Texas Department of Health’s redefinition of the Cowid case. Special thanks to Collin County judge Chris Hill for reporting that a mid-May movement to redefine what was the “Covid” affair to open the door to a huge increase – everything to match the main line of the media that the “second wave” was on the way. In a jury trial for Colleen County on May 18 it was discovered that although Covid’s earlier definition of “case” was a confirmed test result, the definition was suddenly changed to count “probable” cases as “cases”. At the same time, the threshold for determining “probable” was reduced to a ridiculous level. As Judge Hill said at a May 18 meeting: “If you have a subjective fever and have a headache and live in Colleen County, then you are now eligible to become a probable patient with COVID. It’s amazing how low the standard is now. ” Worse, after a “probable” case was determined based on possibly unrelated subjective criteria, up to 15 people who might have contact with this “probable” case were also listed as “probable cases”. And the “probable cases” were considered cases. Repeat this farce through Texas, and is it not surprising that there was a “surge” in “affairs”? In addition, Governor Abbott’s claim that the hospitals were crowded with Covid patients was refuted by the Houston hospital directors themselves, who stated that they had not reached actual capacity and were actually at the same level as last year. The basis of Abbott’s unconstitutional “executive order” turned out to be false. Does he admit his mistake? It is gratifying to see so many local and district officials throughout Texas claim that they will refuse to enforce unconstitutional orders from Governor Abbott. Fortunately, the spirit of freedom and the love of freedom is still alive in Texas. The “second wave” is driven by propaganda. Across the country, Covid testing increased from 150,000 to over 700,000 per day. You cannot drive through Houston without seeing a flurry of advertising “Free Covid Test! Results in 15 minutes! Reuters reported last week that trials sent nationwide by the federal government were contaminated. Mortality from coronavirus — even death “from” the coronavirus rather than from the “coronavirus” — has fallen by more than 90 percent since its peak in April. The decline in mortality continues. This means that we are closer to the “herd immunity” that will finally kill this virus. However, Governor Abbott and others across the country see this as a reason to block the country back. I believe the Democrats are also seeking to center power in Congress and degrade the power of the presidency, states, and courts, although they will use an expanded Supreme Court and court system to do much of their bidding. This would resemble the precedent of radical Republicans during the Reconstruction years of 1865-1877, where a small joint committee of radical Senators and House members and a few key radical cabinet members ran the country. This is how Thaddeus Stevens, Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, received the unofficial title “The Boss of America” after Lincoln’s assassination and the radical Republicans’ displeasure with Andrew Johnson over his and Lincoln’s soft Reconstruction policies. These years were noted for the astonishing growth of despotism and crony- capitalist and government corruption. Certainly Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi would be part of the ruling committee. Former President Barack Obama would be a major influence. The most likely new cabinet member to be included would by former Congressman, Democrat Party leader, and Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, who is strongly connected to the Muslim Brotherhood. If Biden is part of the committee in whatever capacity, he will be only manipulated public relations eye-wash without real influence. The total committee might be 12-24 members with 6-9 hard corps power players. The Republican Party is certainly in need of some reforms, and many of its elected leaders need a strong boost in moral discernment, moral courage, and fighting spirit, but the Democrat Party has become a nightmare of dominance by rabid cultural Marxist ideology without any regard for truth, fairness, common sense, or traditional values. The American people need to rebuke their social and economic insanity. If these radical mob kowtowing Democrats win the Presidency, House, and Senate, severe damage to the American economy, political system, culture, national security, public safety, and most of our freedoms will show up with bewildering speed. The damage would be irreparable, if the Democrats succeed with their plan to import tens of millions of new socialist leaning voters and make honest elections impossible by making vote fraud easy. Trump is the right man to lead in keeping America great, making her greater, and defeating the disciples of canceling America, but this will be an uphill battle requiring strenuous effort and unflagging dedication. For over 40 years, our immigration and refugee systems have been slowly stacking the election deck against conservative influence. The demographics are already to the point of making electing a Republican President difficult. The Democrats’ promise of open door immigration policies and amnesties would quickly make electing a Republican President or having either a House or Senate majority impossible within two years. In addition, most of the mainstream media is relentlessly pounding away at sinking Trump one way or another day after day. Their most prevalent method is the constant proliferation of orchestrated lies permeating every aspect of culture. Moreover, social media like Google, Facebook, Twitter, Apple News, Twitter, and Yahoo are constantly spreading anti-Trump propaganda and actively suppressing conservative influence online. The Washington Post and New York Times are becoming more and more outrageous in their war against truth. Our education system has been creating socialist zombies, woke insanities, and political bullying of high school and college students for more than a generation. Now hundreds of our largest corporations have been bullied into funding Black Lives Matter and left-leaning political funds, giving Democrats a considerable financial advantage over Republicans. It is not going to be easy, but we can and must win this coming election to save our country from political, economic, cultural devastation, and lawless chaos. President Obama had brought the readiness and preparedness of our Armed Forces to a dangerously weak state, and Trump has brought it to new highs. This should prove to anybody with sense that the Russians and Chinese preferred Hillary Clinton, who would have continued Obama’s devastation of U.S. national security. It is highly probable that Trump’s defeat would quickly reverse our military capabilities. China would soon become the world’s greatest economic and military power with the U.S. falling to third place behind Russia, and perhaps lower. The U.S. dollar would also lose its place as the international monetary standard. All this would have immediate unwanted monetary, economic, and foreign policy reverberations. With little U.S. military resistance likely, Taiwan would be in immediate danger, and the heavy hand of Chinese influence would dominate Africa with its vital natural resources and spread everywhere, including the U.S. The U.S. would also lose its energy independence quickly with disastrous results to American jobs, American standards of living, and national security. The great damage of open door immigration would not only make Democrat Party control permanent, but massive new immigration would also place huge fiscal burdens on American taxpayers at federal, state, and local levels and substantially suppress the wages and job opportunities of American workers. The woke corporate supporters of Democrat control would get plenty of cheap labor. The Democrat expansion of the Supreme Court would soon end any hope for conservative causes, especially right to life. The free exercise of religion unacceptable to the Left would be in grave danger. The Constitution would become the latest whim of the courts and a stacked radical Democrat Congress. Although taxes would certainly be higher, American government and vast restructuring of American society and the economy by radical Democrats will be paid for largely by fiat money, marching the country to hyper-inflation by printing or creating money whose value becomes daily more worthless. Venezuela was once one of the richest countries in the world, and now it is one of the poorest. During the German hyper-inflation of 1921 to 1924, an elderly person’s life savings could not buy them a loaf of bread. Trillions of dollars spent on the Green New Deal and vast spending to prevent highly questionable global warming and climate change, while opening our doors to anybody who wants free healthcare and endless lists of demands, is a giant step toward hyper-inflation and the moral and economic devastation that inevitably accompanies it. The greatest casualty of implementing the Democrat nightmare will be law and order. Riches, honor, power, and glory will go to the corrupt and lawless. Evil will be called good, and good evil. The treasured truths of history and culture will be wiped out and replaced by the ideology of ruthless totalitarians. Ordinary citizens will have no genuine recourse to justice but will be subject to bullying, economic dispossession, and terror by Antifa, Black Lives Matter, the Muslim Brotherhood, and eventually by a new corps of corrupt law enforcement, judges, and military officers willing to replace duty, honor, and country with the new PC ideology. Trump is not perfect, but by any just measure, he has been one of our greatest presidents in advancing prosperity and common sense Constitutional government, perhaps even the greatest. Some Republicans have faltered in loss of vision for the common good, and the Democrats were once a party that defended the Constitution and the rights of ordinary folks. But that Democratic Party is no more. It has become a corrupt, bullying, totalitarian nightmare, treasonous to traditional moral and political values and indifferent to the necessity of just law and order and the common good of ordinary folks. It has become the very enemy of civilization and the peaceful security of life, work, and family. The contest in November is between saving American civilization with its traditional order of regulated freedom by voting Republican or destroying it by voting for the lawless and chaotic radicalism, hatred, and arrogant, self-righteous, bullying despotism that now characterizes the increasingly insane and morally depraved Democrat Party. The choice is stark, but many formidable obstacles to keeping our freedom still remain. This stark choice and its tremendous consequences must be made known to our neighbors, friends, and relatives. It will take much hard volunteer work and financial help from all levels to pull our country away from the edge of nightmare. Let’s not complacently sleepwalk over the edge. Is Mob Violence Winning? Declared three weeks ago by radical leftists as CHAZ, the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, rechristened CHOP, the Capitol Hill Occupation Protest, the six-block enclave inside Seattle ceased to exist July 1. The cops shut it down. As Marx said, history repeats itself, first as tragedy then as farce. If the Paris Commune of 1871 is the archetype, that mass uprising and swift slaughter of the communards who rose against the regime, what happened in Seattle is the farce. Police Chief Carmen Best, who opposed Mayor Jenny Durkan's surrender of one of her precinct stations to the mob, explained in exasperation why her cops finally acted: "Enough is enough. The CHOP (had) become lawless and brutal. Four shootings -- two fatal -- robberies, assaults, violence and countless property crimes have occurred in this several block area." The shooting death of a 16-year-old and critical wounding of a 14- year-old on Monday finally forced the mayor's hand. Some journalists touring the CHOP had burbled on like Lincoln Steffens on his first trip to Lenin's Russia, "I have been over into the future and it works!" They wrote of "peaceful" meetings, "documentary screenings" and "concerts." Best was more hardheaded about what she found after recapturing the CHOP: "After walking through the area I was stunned by the amount of graffiti, garbage, and property destruction." Apparently, however, Mayor Durkan does not want posterity to forget the glory days of what she had predicted would be a "summer of love." Writes The Washington Post: "Durkan called for charges to be dismissed against those who were arrested for alleged misdemeanors ... The mayor also said that Seattle arts and parks departments would preserve a community garden and artwork and murals that protesters created within the zone." Hard to believe. Statues of Washington, Jefferson, Jackson, Lincoln, Grant and Theodore Roosevelt are dragged down, while the murals and graffiti of misfits who trashed downtown Seattle are to be preserved. This raises a larger question. Have the six weeks of protests since the death of George Floyd -- weeks featuring riots, looting and trashing of city centers, desecration of monuments from Columbus to the Founding Fathers, presidents and Confederate generals, proven to be a cultural and political victory for the radical left? More precisely, is the mob winning? The case can be made that the mob has won already. People have gotten away with massive demonstrations blocking roads, highways and parks. Shopping areas in elite and working-class sections of scores of cities have been torched and looted. Police have been insulted, taunted and showered with debris. Result: Mob demands to "Defund the Police" have been met by political concessions and capitulations. Minneapolis is moving to abolish its police force. New York Mayor Bill De Blasio has slashed $1 billion from the NYPD budget. Protesters camping out at city hall are demanding more. Joe Biden, who began his campaign by telling us how well he had gotten on with the old segregationist senators like Jim Eastland and Strom Thurmond, has been scrambling as swiftly as he can in that basement. Said Biden this week: "(W)ith regard to those statues and monuments, like the Jefferson Memorial, there's an obligation that the government protect those monuments because they're different. That's a remembrance, it's not dealing with revering somebody who had that view. ... They may have had things in their past that were now and then distasteful, but that's a judgment." This mush comes from a senator who probably cannot remember how many Jefferson-Jackson Day dinners he has attended and addressed. Consider what else the radicals and rioters have accomplished. They have made mass civil disobedience an acceptable and even praiseworthy form of protest, if you are justifiably outraged. They have won near-immunity for burning and looting stores. Blanket amnesties at the state and city level appear to be in the cards. With the collaboration of an allied and indulgent media, the radicals have turned public opinion against the cops. They have forced the issue of defunding the police onto the national agenda. They have pulled the center of gravity of politics sharply to the left. Contrast how our establishment has been panicked into headlong retreat, with how Xi Jinping's Chinese Communist Party handled its year of protests in Hong Kong -- protests aimed at attaining the democratic rights that the American protesters are abusing. The Chinese made a calculated decision: They would not use the methods they had employed in Tiananmen Square in 1989. But bottom line, they would also not lose Hong Kong to the democratic camp. Beijing has now taken over Hong Kong, stifled the protests and begun a roundup of those who initiated and led the disorders. And the West has done nothing. As the world observes how the world's greatest democracy handles disorders arising from left-wing radicals, and how China is handling an anti-Communist uprising in its city of Hong Kong, which appears to be more in command and control of its nation's destiny? I’ve read lots of very conflicting statements of late about the uptick in the number of Chinese virus cases in this country. There are those that want to shut the country down all over again and force the population to wear face masks, both at home and outside, forever, or at least until the very last case of this Chinese virus is officially cured. And you can bet all this will not be resolved at least until after the November election. And should Biden manage to, somehow, get the votes to become president, I’d be willing to bet the Chinese virus will no longer be a major problem. This is a slight exaggeration, but you know what I am talking about. I guess you could say I am a little doubtful about the huge increase in numbers all of a sudden. In passing, I will note the big number of protests that went on in several states earlier this Spring regarding the blatant exercise of governmental power regarding the lockdowns and how they were being enforced. State governors and other potential tin pot dictators were out there in a mad rush to curtail peoples liberties and people finally got to the point where they had had enough–and so they protested. As they protested, we started having all these BLM protests by the trained Marxists who were out there rampaging and burning cities and that pretty much stopped the legitimate protests by those who were just ordinary folks and not Marxists. Recently I talked to a doctor about some of this and, to my surprise, he agreed with me. It sounded like he had done a little homework on his own. He noted how many of these deaths from the Chinese virus were actually deaths from other causes of people who had gotten the virus. It wasn’t the virus that killed them, even though they had it, it was some of the other medical problems they had, yet their deaths were being attributed to the Chinese virus. In other words, someone has been padding the numbers. Gee, what a surprise! You don’t suppose someone on the left would do that for political reasons do you? Naw, never happen! Just this morning I came across an interesting article on www.sgtreport.com for May 31, 2020 about an interview with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and he had some rather interesting comments to make about Trump’s leading “health” expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci. I have read a few other comments about Dr. Fauci recently that have been, shall we say, less than charitable. If you can find this site on the internet it is worth checking out. I won’t try to go into it all here, but I will give you one quote: “Also, be sure to check out the following episode of the Health Ranger Report in which Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, talks about how globalists like Anthony Fauci are using the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis to test how much tyranny Americans are willing to accept:” I’ve seen Mike Adams’ stuff before and he is usually on target. So if he lists Fauci as a globalist then we should consider that this is what he is. Fauci has always tried to give the impression that he is totally apolitical. Yet he has defended the Marxist head of the World Health Organization so that should tell you something right there. Kennedy noted in his interview that Fauci owns “Many, Many” patents on vaccines. This is an area I have not done a lot with, so I can’t verify Kennedy’s claim but it sure seems as if it would be an area worth looking into. This all goes along with my growing suspicion that this sudden new outburst of this Chinese virus is every bit a much, or even more, political than it is medical. But even the best of efforts may not stop the idea entirely. My guess is that one monument will be replaced by a "Loving Day" statue. My greater point is that even in places where our monuments have already been desecrated and removed we remain active and vigilant.
