ASHEVILLE, N.C. Asheville City Council unanimously passed a resolution Tuesday night to provide reparations to black residents and their descendants. The resolution also apologizes for Asheville's role historically in slavery and discrimination. The vote was 7-0 through a virtual meeting posted online.
Advertisement The resolution does not give direct payments to descendants of slaves, but instead allocates money to areas that traditionally see racial disparities.
Those areas include an effort to increase minority home ownership and access to affordable housing. Investments will also be made to increase minority business ownership and career opportunities. Other priorities include closing gaps in health care, education, pay and fairness within the criminal justice system.

Every day you think it can't get any crazier, and then it does! Please remember thru all this hell and chaos we're enduring right now that SC governess Nikki Haley lit the fuse. Credit should always be given where due, and blame no less.
"Historic" is one of the worst words that can bedevil a headline in the peecee age...... 60 BLEEPING YEARS OF RACIAL GIVEAWAYS IS NOT ENOUGH, and nothing ever will be.
