Biden Backers Pushing Hard Against Kamala Harris As VP Choice

(PatriotHeadline.com)- Joe Biden’s apparent choice for running mate may have been mistakenly leaked by Politico earlier this week, and now, some top Democratic aides and donors are trying their best to stop that in its tracks.

On Tuesday, Politico posted a photo and note about Biden choosing California Senator Kamala Harris as his selection for vice president. The note read:

“Joe Biden chose Kamala Harris to become his running mate for the 2020 election on Aug. 1, two weeks before the Democratic National Convention, after keeping his choice close to the chest for months.”

The media outlet issued an apology and removed the story. They said the note and photo were both posted in error and apologize for “any confusion that is caused.”

Biden has said he will announce his selection for running mate next week, but the mistaken Politico announcement has many in his camp worried.

According to a CNBC report, there is a group of at least a dozen people who are waging a campaign to stop Biden from selecting Harris. All of these people are Biden backers, and some are even among his top donors.

Reasons for their opposition to Harris include how she attacked Biden when both were campaigning to become the Democratic nominee for president during primary debates. That worried these supporters that Harris isn’t really loyal to Biden.

During the primary, Harris attacked Biden for his past record of voting against integrated busing. He did this while a senator from Delaware.

Some of these people also worry that Harris is too ambitious to be vice president. They say she’ll only be focused on becoming president herself, according to the CNBC report.

Florida businessman and bundler Jon Morgan expressed these exact concerns to CNBC. He said of Harris:

“She would be running for president the day of the inauguration. For me, loyalty and friendship should mean something. But as Bill Clinton once told me, The No. 1 cause of Alzheimer’s is ambition.”

Another businessman based in Chicago who is backing Biden told CNBC anonymously:

“I think a good number of people closest to Joe are pushing against Kamala, including me. I don’t like her, and I don’t like the way she campaigned. She seems not loyal at all and very opportunistic.”

Another sign that Harris may be Biden’s top pick came from the Associated Press this week. On Tuesday, an AP photographer took a picture of a set of notes Biden was holding while speaking at a press conference. Those notes appeared to speak highly of Harris.

In the notes, Biden described Harris as “talented” and a “great help to the campaign.” Biden also said he has “great respect for her.”

For all the negatives these people point out about Harris, she has been a constant critic of President Donald Trump as well as Republicans in general, specifically for how they’ve responded to the coronavirus pandemic.

With the pandemic sure to be a central talking point in these final few months leading up to the election, Biden may feel like Harris is the voice that can help lead him to office.

Could be worse. Could be Susan Rice.

Susan Rice.

Susan Rice was U.N. Ambassador the same time Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State.

And during that time the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya was attacked on Sept. 12, 2012 killing four, including Ambassador Chris Stevens. :-/
