California Governor “Delinquent” on Property Tax Payment

A love for high taxes is a hallmark of the Democrat Party.
Left-leaning politicians frequently promote high taxes as a necessary means for “equality” and a fair society. This promotion comes in spite of high taxes’ negative impacts on working families and people’s ability to control where their money goes.
California is a state with extremely high taxes, not to mention astronomical costs of living. Gavin Newsom, the governor of California, also has no qualms about hiking taxes on residents of the Golden State. In light of this, some people might believe that Newsom regularly pays the taxes that he owes.

This belief would be incorrect. As a matter of fact, Townhall reports that the California governor is delinquent on property taxes that he owes to the government. Go figure.
What to Know About Newsom’s Back Property Taxes
Information from the Marin County Tax Collector shows that the California governor currently owes Kentfield estate property taxes. Newsom has yet to pay these taxes and is subsequently delinquent.
This is not the first time that California’s governor has run into issues with paying for his taxes. Earlier this year, Newsom incurred a late payment fee of over $2,000 on his mansion in Sacramento.

The irony of all this is that Newsom was the first governor in the nation to shut down his state, causing millions of Californians to lose their salaries and financial security. However, Newsom still received his own paychecks, begging to question why he has yet to pay his property taxes.
At this time, the California governor has not issued an official statement to explain why he is behind on his property taxes or when he intends to pay them.

The left is regularly criticized for holding Americans to standard that they themselves fail to live up to.
Right now, the California governor is facing strong backlash for not only failing to pay his property taxes, but also for continuing to keep the Golden State shut down.

While millions of Californians wonder how they’re going to pay their bills, support their families, etc. due to shutdowns, Newsom’s Napa Valley winery remains open. Of course, the California governor did not allow other wineries in the state to also stay functional.
