Even as ignorant as Obama was, he stationed a Marine air wing on the northwest coast of Australia.

When Trump took over he increased the wing presence. The US can close the Straits at any time. We can strangle China at will. That is why China and India are building carriers. They will have a voice in the region.

The US can strangle China without nuclear weapons. China knows that.

Yes and in the 1930s, the U.S. was selling its scrap steel to Japan.

Japan of course, was using that scrap to build weapons of war. When the U.S. cut Japan off its oil, that is when Japan started to plan the attacks on Pearl Harbor and Manila. War was in the offing and FDR knew it. He did everything in his power to make it happen.

The U.S. had also broken the Jap Naval Code and knew well in advance the attack on Pearl was coming. The warning of the attack was sent by regular first class mail rather than expedited military channels. FDR was as much to blame for the war as were the Japs.

Japan wanted to sue for peace. But that was out because of the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. The U.S. wanted unconditional surrender.

BTW, all of the weapons in storage on Guam for an eventual invasion of Japan were sent to Hanoi. This can be proven by looking up Col. Fletcher Prouty. ;)
