Iran Sinks FAKE American Aircraft Carrier Used In Training Exercises

(ConservativePeak.com)- Iran’s Navy, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, made a massive blunder recently by sinking a fake United States aircraft carrier. Iranian Navy officials sunk a ship used during training exercises in what appears to have either been a mistake…or possibly a way of preparing for real warfare with the United States.

Whether it was an error or deliberate, it’s worrying.

Forbes reports how the sunken carrier was seen in commercial satellite imagery capsized following an attack. It reportedly began to sink when it was being towed to Bandar Abbas after the attack. On July 31, the aircraft carrier was seen leaning “steeply to one side,” the outlet reported, with “half of the flight deck submerged. At this point, the boat is now mostly submerged underwater.

Satellite imagery showing the damaged carrier was published by Forbes and Aurora Intel, a team of intelligence researchers from the United Kingdom, Canada, and Israel.

New imagery from yesterday shows the capsized #IRGC replica of the Nimitz Class Carrier appears to have listed more outside of Bandar Abbas Port, #Iran. She appears more listed here than previous imagery from the 31st July. The depth here is a reported 14m. Fun to reclaim…. pic.twitter.com/tKTHJAaGCS

What a sight!

It might seem funny at first, particularly if this really was an error, but the fact that the Iranian Navy has bot the capability and willingness to sink an American aircraft carrier should be immediately concerning. Especially after the serious escalations we’ve seen in recent years from Iranian leadership.

Missiles were fired from an Iranian helicopter while the aircraft carrier was circled by speedboats. The Navy seems proud of it, too, with footage of the incident being used on Iranian state-run television as propaganda to show Iran’s might in the fight against the United States. You can see some of the propaganda in the video below.

Iran has launched yesterday a two days long live ammunition naval military exercise testing new weapons and practicing air-sea and coast-sea capabilities. A mock up of a US aircraft carrier was the star of the show. pic.twitter.com/aIhczkWGYy

Perhaps what’s most terrifying about Iran is not necessarily their military might – the United States is much more prepared and better- equipped than Iran – but instead their willingness to fight anyway.

One thing the Iranians do not count on is that REAL U.S. aircraft carriers have escort ships. And ALL OF THEM would be shooting back. ;)

Iran's best weapon is missiles and they have a lot of them. If they launch 300 missiles at a carrier and 2 hit, then it's a victory for them.

Victory???

It would be a sad day for Iran. The US military is neither stupid nor incompetent about warfare.

In any hypothetical hot war between Iran and the USA, or for that matter any David vs Goliath match up, the rules for winning and losing are not the same for both parties.

Goliath is expected to win, so anything less than a dominating victory is at minimum a disappointment. David is expected to be completely routed, so anything better than that is an underdog victory.

A US carrier getting hit by two Iranian missiles may well sink it, but would certainly at minimum take it out of the war for the duration, and there would be significant casualties. Expending 300 missiles for the task would be considered a worthwhile expense, and would still represent a lower military hardware cost to Iran than the USA's cost of the carrier. To bloody the nose of their Great Satan would be celebrated.

Sure the USA could launch lots of tomahawks and stuff which would do damage and kill lots of Iranians, but it wouldn't detract much from the victory, so yes, it would be a victory to them.

Ping...

That is tortured, illogical thinking, at its zenith.

Lose a war and declare victory?

Seventy five years ago, Japan declared a victory at Pearl Harbor??? Spent time in Japan, NEVER met one person that spoke of a victory at Pearl Harbor, never never. The living Japanese cursed those that that were in charge in 1941.

Truman was a poker player, he cleaned the table with Japan, lost his nerve with Korea, resulting in 45,000 men dying. Did we call anything in Korea a victory?

Iran has Mach 14 missiles. Iran, if they wanted to, could simultaneously fire missiles fired from boats, from drones and from the land to take out every US boat in the region. They could in the second round take out every American base in Afghanistan, Iraq, the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Syria and Qatar. The people who own the US Government steal so much money that our fastest missile is less than half the speed of the Iranian missiles.

Of course we could nuke their largest cities, But they could take 10,000 plus American servicemen and women hostage. The Dollar would Die,Hyperinflation would wipe out debts. China and Russia could combine to declare a debt cancellation of all Obligations to the US and the UK. We would have 60% permanent wage cuts and have a Civil War making further overseas activity impossible.

The US Dollar will die within a year or two no matter what we do. We will go into Civil War. We will no longer have these sanctions against foreign nations. And we will be fighting each other for food and resources.

Cyni, what I'm saying has been the rule for a while.

Japan was not an underdog before WW2.

Vietnam qualifies. They never had a single tactical victory through the entire conflict. They lost many more multiples of lives than the US did. And they still won because the US got tired of the whole mess.

Economically we are quite vulnerable. I believe Russia has, however, has paid off all their dollar debts. Putin decided to stop investing in the US after Russian diplomats were expelled from the US in the Skipal poisoning fallout. (I think Russia was framed on that one with Israel being the prime suspect as at the time, Russia was kicking ISIS butt in Syria which was no doubt PO'ing Israel off).

Japan was not an underdog before WW2.

In Geo/political language, Japan was an EXPANSIONIST country, long before 1900.

Such countries adopt a culture that dictates, THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO TAKE TERRITORY FROM OTHERS. Russia has long been the champions of this method, hence the largest country in the world.

History, Japan wanted land, resources from Russia, they tried militarily and lost. Next it was China, that was too big to swallow so their only outlet for expansion was SOUTH. South was small countries, small population with land and some oil. Japan drew up preliminary plans to send three million Japanese settlers to Australia.

The battle of Coral Sea stopped Japanese march to Australia.

Such affairs go beyond generations. Japan wanted Australia early as 1900, did not make a military move until 1941.

Such world shaping affairs are long in planning.

Australia became their goal.

Cyni, I am sure you recall the U.S. squeezed Japan by cutting off most of its resources.

The U.S. forced the Japs to attack Pearl Harbor and Manila simultaneously.

The U.S. had broken the Jap Naval Code and knew the attack on Pearl Harbor was coming. They sent word by standard First Class Mail instead of thru military channels which would have been expedited.

I am sure FDR knew this and let the attack happen since it would mean war. ;)

Btp...as a student of history...

FDR aided or accelerated the Japanese. He did NOT cause it or help originate it. THE MILITARY PLANS FOR PEARL HARBOR WERE IN PLACE YEARS BEFORE FDR...Years...

Think...If FDR caused the war, why did Japan declare war and attack several other countries the same day????

Remember, we began preparations in 1920 for the coming war with Japan. Was that caused by FDR way back then? History facts do not lie but they are twisted to fit the narratives of people.

Deteriorating relations always come before 2 countries wage war between each other. As for plans for attacking PH long before it happened, that's normal. The US no doubt already has plans in place for invading numerous countries. Certainly Iran and North Korea are on the list, but I fully expect plans to be in place for invading Great Britain and France as well. That's what planners do. If nothing else it's good practice.

North Korea on the list

Not since Kim stepped across the DMZ and embraced the peacenik Moon. That act by itself ended the Korean War. And it brought North Korea into the fold with using a Rothschild central bank.

The last two remaining countries on that list are Cuba and Iran. So we can expect hostilities with Iran to continue unabated. ;)

In 1918-1919 Japan was our ally, we welcomed each other in the fight against Germany. I know of no deteriorating relations.
