Ron Paul See other Ron Paul Articles Title: Biden Chickens Out: Refuses Cognitive Test Biden Chickens Out: Refuses Cognitive Test It has been a concern and even an assumption for quite some time that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden might not be up for the job he is applying to. As I am sure you are aware, the man has made more than a few blunders during his campaign, and not all of them could be labeled as minuscule. Naturally, as it would for anyone, these gaffes have called into question his mental capabilities, with many suggesting that he should be tested. After all, if he is to the President of the United States, and as such, our Commander-In-Chief, we need to know he is fully capable of taking on the tasks of the office. I mean, it only makes sense, right? When applying for any job, there are certain qualifications and specific requirements that must be met if a person is to be selected for the position. The role of the President is no different. In fact, as leader of the free world, it means the stakes are even higher, as are the requirements. It just so happens that being in your right mind and in full command of your thought processes is one of those requirements. But, as of the last year or so, it seems as though Biden might not be capable of meeting this. His mistakes and blunders have been so erroneous and numerous, in fact, that it has caused many, some even within his own party, to suggest that he might be in the early stages of dementia. He was even asked about his cognitive abilities and the possibility of being tested in June. At the time he said, that he had “been tested and I’m constantly tested.” In addition, he noted that he could “hardly wait to compare my cognitive capability to the cognitive capability of the man I’m running against.” However, it seems that he was either lying, has forgotten, or has done a complete flip-flop on that notion since then. Biden was recently interviewed – virtually, of course, as he is still not leaving his basement – by the National Association of Black Journalists and National Association of Hispanic Journalists for a segment that is supposed to air on Thursday. During the interview, CBS reporter Errol Barnett asked Biden if he had had a cognitive test taken recently or at all. And his response was exactly what you would expect from a dementia patient. Biden said, “No, I haven’t taken a test. Why the hell would I take a test?” Ummm… Has Biden forgotten about his claim that he was “constantly tested” just two months before? Or has he forgotten about his many blunders and why someone might assume he wasn’t always with it? As it turns out, his previous admittance of taking a test, might not have meant exactly that. According to Biden’s advisers, by being “constantly tested,” the former vice president was referring to “the everyday rigors of a campaign,” as reported by The Guardian. So he hasn’t been tested yet. Ok. No need to get “testy,” as CNN called it. It was a simple question and a simple misunderstanding. After all, it’s not like Biden is always clear and understandable. But Biden felt the need to clarify or expound on why he shouldn’t be tested, insinuating that taking such a test would be like taking a drug test or something like that. He told Barnett, “Come on, man. That’s like saying you before you got on this program, you take a test where you’re taking cocaine or not. What do you think? Huh? Are you a junkie?” Testy, indeed. (By the way, testiness or sudden bursts of anger is a common symptom of dementia). Furthermore, this line of reasoning, if you can call it that, seems to be quite erred. Firstly, Biden appears to be insinuating or at least asking if Barnett does drugs. Now, it’s likely this isn’t really what he’s going after. Then again, it’s hard to know what he is after. Secondly, Biden apparently thinks of a cognitive test as something similar to random drug testing or something, and as such, shouldn’t be applied to him. But why shouldn’t it be? As he said, people are often tested by their employers to make sure they measure up the standards required of them. Why would taking a cognitive or even a drug test be any different? We, as Americans, have every right to know that the man seeking our highest office if up to the task. And to deny us that right, let alone get “testy” about it only makes us question it all the more. Poster Comment: Too bad but Joe is slipping away fast. I saw him and his wife in an interview together. She was trying to give him moral support but not so sure it was getting thru.
