A gold-backed cryptocurrency has been launched in the Islamic Republic of Iran,. The cryptocurrency known as Peyman (the Persian word for covenant) is the fruit of cooperation between four banks and Ghoghnoos Company.

The four partner banks are Parsian Bank, Bank Pasargad, Bank Melli Iran, and Bank Mellat. Iran Fara Bourse, an over-the-counter exchange, is also expected to host the new currency, Iranian English daily Financial Tribune reports.

Don't need nukes. Iran can sink our fleet, take out the whole of Central Command and burn Israel to the ground. Mutually Assured Destruction.

A gold-based currency would directly challenge US economic supremacy and central bank dollar hegemony.

All we need to do is look at what happened to Qadaffi in Libya when he announced a gold backed Dinar. As Saddam himself said he did "not want to trade in the currency of the enemy."

And then we invaded Iraq because Saddam was selling oil for Euros. This action threatened the U.S. policy of Dollar Supremacy. Saddam had to go and he did.

Now what will happen when China releases its 20% gold backed Yuan?

It is pretty simple. The Dollar will crumble into dust. Things might resemble Weimar Germany in the 1920s where you needed a wheel barrow of Deutsch Marks to buy a loaf of bread.

Why do you think the IMF has moved from Washington, D.C. to Beijing? ;)

Iran is not Libya. They have the means to sink our Persian Gulf fleet, take out every American base from Bahrain to Baghdad tp Afghanistan and burn Israel to the ground.

The US will financially implode within 24 months and be incapable of waging a war after that.

Yes Iran has hypersonic missiles and they could target the Persian Gulf fleet. But if they think they can burn Israel to the ground they had better be prepared for Tehran and other large cities in Iran to receive incoming Israeli nukes.

Recall that JFK was opposed to Israel possessing nukes.

I am not a military expert and do not know what types of defenses the U.S. might have against those missiles.

Here is an article about that subject.

One other thing to consider. Now that the Korean War is over because Kim stepped across the DMZ to embrace the peacenik Moon, that leaves only two countries that do not have a Rothschild Central Bank. Those are Iran and Cuba. ;)

Israel cannot use nuclear weapons because Iran, Syria and Hezbollah could burn them to the ground.

I am a crypto currency advocate, however, there are different types.

Free market crypto is crypto that is decentralized in its production. Bitcoin and many similar cryptos qualify. Anyone can, at least in theory, mine bitcoin. It is not centrally produced or issued.

But some crypto's are centrally issued, and those cryptos are only as good as the issuing authority. They are created at the push of a button, hence the need to trust the entity that does the button pushing. These tokens are not mined, but are similar to coupons that used to appear in newspapers and magazines -- they are only of value as long as the issuer honors its terms.

Iran issuing a gold backed crypto means that anyone who accepts it in a transaction is trusting the Iran government that it really is gold backed. They are trusting that Iran isn't issuing the crypto fraudulently by creating more crypto than Iran has gold to cover.

And just because Iran is getting imperial treatment from the USA does not mean that the Iran gov can be trusted with issuing currency. To the contrary, history shows that any gov is incapable of avoiding the temptation of currency debasement. It's human nature.

But... it's not a perfect world.

Iran has a sizable missile inventory of different types, and they have, I expect, pretty good ones.

There is supersonic, and then there's hypersonic. So far as I know, however, Russia is the only country to possess hypersonic missile tech. It is quite new, and I'd be surprised if Iran had that. Certainly Iran has supersonic missiles though.

Iran has Mach 14 missiles. Up to the public to classify that as supersonic or hypersonic. US missiles in production that can be launched are less than half the speed of what Iran has.

Seems mach 5 is considered hypersonic, which, perhaps not so coincidentally, is the name of Speed Racer's car, if memory serves.

But a web search doesn't turn up any capability for mach 14 missiles.

Seems all of us posting here are dating ourselves, aren't we? I think I remember being intro'd to SR at a friend's house in the early 70's.

Good to be hanging out with all you guys.

Watching this cracks me up.

It would never make it in today's world. The intro itself shows some poor smuck's car getting knocked off the speedway and detonating in a clearly non survivable explosion big enough to take out a whole city block. Antifa would be jealous.

And then there's the one super feature of the Mach 5 where the spinning saw blades come out of the front of the car, allowing Speed to take short cuts through dense forests at 90 MPH mowing down homes to so many endangered owls.

I can remember my Mom sitting up late in the early 60s watching Johnny Carson's Tonight Show on late night TV. When she would spot me lying on the couch she would tell me to get to bed.

We had steam heat from radiators in winter and the boiler would go out and we would stand in front of the open oven door to warm up.

After all the late nights we had when grown up and working concert security and closing the bars late too. Sometimes they would allow us to stay in the bar after they closed at 4 AM on weekend, and when they opened up at 6 AM it was time for a Bloody Mary. And then to Denny's for breakfast. ;)

mowing down homes to so many endangered owls.

When I worked at the Arlington state yard in Illinois. The Kestrels would have a nest in the old salt bin building.

There was an old gas station building on the corner next to the yard. Starlings had a nest in the corner of the roof where there was a hole.

The Kestrel would swoop in and stick its head in the hole and pull out a baby Starling. Food was where you found it.

But one day at morning break, we stopped at White Hen Pantry. I bought a bottle of soda and a bag of BBQ chips. When I came out of the store there was this gorgeous blond that just got out of her car. She was heading toward the front door of the store.

I held out the chips and said, "Hello darling'. You want some BBQ?"

She screamed and ran into the store. Do you think maybe I scared her? I was dressed in my work grubbies. :-/

Wiki is a Jewish edited. I have been reading about this missile for years. Hezbollah could easily fire 50,000 missiles against Israel in case of war. Many of those would be fired from tunnels inside Israel. They could also launch drones to attack targets

https://www.globalsecurity.org/wmd/world/iran/sajjil.htm Cites Def Sec Gates in 2009 as a source.

They also have a Mach 9 missile which is beyond America's capabilities outside of Press releases. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghadr-110

Okay then. At that speed and a 20 meter accuracy, if guidance can be controlled on the fly, then even moving ships would be vulnerable, and that even if it didn't have a warhead on it. US ships are equipped with hyper fast gatling guns to shoot down incoming missiles, so that would be the contest. Though in that situation, the defending ship can't win the contest by shooting down all but one missile.

American ships cannot defend themselves against any missile faster than Mach 9.

Iran, Syria and Hezbollah can launch 100,000 missiles and have another 100,000 in reserve.

Iran has been mass producing drones. They can fire either 8 missiles or one 500 pound bomb. Even if they are 20 miles from a target several drones can launch simultaneously in conjunction with sea launched missiles and land launched ones as well. A fuel air explosive does not have to be close. It can kill everyone within half a mile.

Iran can launch 5,000 fast boats armed with shoulder fired missiles.

America could never win a shooting war with Iran or China.

The Good News is that America will be bankrupt in a year and we won't be able to afford any wars.
