Immigration Activist Deported

Cecilia Velasquez

KSDK-Two days before a big immigration reform rally in downtown St. Louis, a prime mover of the event was arrested and set for deportation.

Cecilia Velasquez was arrested in 2000 as she crossed the U.S border from Mexico, and refused to leave the country. In April of 2003, she was arrested again, following a complaint about her immigration status. Court records show she fought her deportation until August of 2005, and even went to the U.S. Court of Appeals, where she lost, and was found to be deportable.

Friday, her lawyer says she was sent to Mexico.

Velasquez is on the business license for a Spanish language newspaper published in south St. Louis, and was active in the Latino community. Her newspaper, "Red Latina", which means Latin Network, heavily promoted last week's immigration rally. One of her supporters says the timing of her deportation is not just a coincidence, and she was targetted by the government.

A spokesman for I.C.E., the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency of Homeland Security, denies any agenda, saying the arrest and removal is purely a coincidence. (1 image)

I'm originally from the St. Louis area.

I tell people over and over the Midwest is not like the rest of the country. We're not East Coast or West Coast faggots.

If anything saves this country, it will be the Midwest and the South.

I can see it now.

She will be their new Martyr. The illegals will be carrying posters of her and demanding her return to the U.S.

I'd like to see them try this in St. Louis. Remember, this is the state in which the Civil War lasted for years after it was supposedly over. Jesse James? I dealt with people like that for years.

The people in Illinois, just outside St. Louis, are exactly the same. Most of them came from Tennesee and Kentucky. The whole area is full of pick-up driving guys with eagle-and-flag decals in their back windows. They do not like Mexicans, and God forbid any of them try to enter the construction industry.

I don't speak much Spanish, but I know damn well that Red Latina does not mean Latin Network. It obviously refers to Communism. Many of these pro immigration people, especially the organizers are Communists. But of course, they cover that up for the MSM.
