Harris Claims Russian Interference Could Cost Her the White House

Paul Crookston - SEPTEMBER 6, 2020 12:50 PM

Democratic vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris said Sunday that Russia could block her and Joe Biden from winning the November presidential election.

"I do believe that there will be foreign interference in the 2020 election and that Russia will be at the front of the line," the California senator said.

"Could it cost you the White House?" asked CNN's Dana Bash.

"Theoretically of course, yes," Harris replied.

While Harris argued that Russia could compromise the election, she also criticized President Donald Trump for "trying to convince the American people not to believe in the integrity of our election system and compromise their belief that their vote might actually count."

Harris's comments echoed twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, who said at the Democratic National Convention last month that Trump is engaged in an effort to "steal" the election. Harris and Clinton also spread the conspiracy theory that Trump tampered with the U.S. Postal Service to rig the election in his favor, a claim that numerous Democrats and members of the media have pushed in recent weeks.

More Russian collusion? I think Kamala is beating a dead horse.

They are doing everything they can to delegitimize any Trump win in November, and in so doing, they are delegitimizing any win they might have. Trump supporters are simply not going to believe the election was not stolen.

I expect this stigma will stick for all future elections.

Of course the real problem is black box voting machines that can come up with any tally that is preprogrammed into them.

We need a paper trail to follow in all instances to prevent voter fraud. ;)

Exactly. Computers can be used to improve voting, but they cannot be trusted to singularly keep vote tallies.

The best way to use them is have a touch screen where users select their vote, then the computer prints out the completed ballot. The voter can then verify the printed ballot matches their selection, after which time they exit the booth and place the paper ballot in the ballot box.

The voter must be allowed to shred their ballot and print out a new one if desired. That would pretty much eliminate any opportunity for hacking the vote via computers.

But all that is beside the point, really. Harris and D's are terrified of a Trump win and are doing all they can to delegitimize his win in the eyes of the people before the first ballot is cast.

I normally take the "This is the most important election of our time" rhetoric with a grain of salt, but this time, I think it really is. Usually R's and D's are the same, but not this time, and if Biden does win, who else is there to win the presidency in the name of anti-deep state antics as Trump has done. It must be someone wealthy, well known, willing to put the people first and a bit arrogant. Who else is there?

There would be no one to match Trump. Trump donates his Presidential salary to charity. Who else could do that?

Trump upset the apple cart by beating Hillary in 2016. The Electoral College did as the Founders intended. ;)

Are you kidding? I read Pelosi has a net worth of over $200 million. Every president for the last 100 years *could* have done that, but only Trump has.

The Electoral College did as the Founders intended. ;)

Well, the founders intended for the fed gov to be a gov of the states, not a gov of the American people. The electoral college was devised as simple recognition of each state being sovereign, and that gov laws and policies would only guide and govern the states. The vote system is simply a way to give fair say to each the state in who the president of the states would be, which is a balance of population but also partially recognizing the equality of states by giving 2 votes to all to start.

These days, the fed gov most certainly directly impacts the people directly, and because of that, there is some merit to argue it should be a popular vote. I'd much prefer rolling back Fed power to impact the people directly.

The current federal government has become the leviathan the founders feared most.

And we can thank Alexander Hamilton for that especially with his writings in the Federalist Papers.

We should also thank Aaron Burr for killing Hamilton in a duel. ;)
