Racehoaxer Smollet Takes a Page Out of Pelosi’s Playbook: “I Was Setup…”

September 15, 2020

Marc Lamont Hill decided to have a sit down interview with Jussie Smollett. This was a great chance for Smollett to take some level of responsibility for what took place (or did not take place) in Chicago, where he claimed he was attacked by racists. This attack supposedly took place in the middle of the night but there was absolutely no evidence to prove it even happened.

Before the interview with Smollett, Angela Davis and Chicago Black Lives Matter founder Aislinn Pulley stopped by. They both looked to question the integrity of the Chicago police department. Hill claims that these conversations are supposed to be part of a larger discourse about the effectiveness and reliability of Chicago police in a more general sense.

Once Pulley was given her chance to speak, she claimed that the Chicago Police Department had held the brothers who were accused of the attack for too long. When the Osundairo borthers were first accused, they were held by the police for roughly 47 hours. “I mean this is standard torture advanced interrogation techniques. The whole thing continues to be a PR stunt in order to save face for CPD,” said Pulley.

Davis came on and immediately admitted to her personal biases. She is actually a friend of the Smollett family. Davis argued that “the efforts to prosecute Jussie are designed to justify and validate existing structures of policing, precisely at a time when the police and carceral systems are being profoundly criticized by masses of people.” If you’re not willing to read between the lines, she’s calling the whole thing a setup.

Smollett doesn’t seem to be willing to let it go, either. He says that it has been tough for him to remain silent. His lawyers have been advising him to lay low while the case unfolds. Hill asked him if the case was likely to end anytime soon. Smollett did not seem very hopeful. “There is an example being made and the sad part is there’s an example being made of someone that did not do what they’re being accused of,” said Jussie.

He went on to say that he had two witnesses that saw the men attacking him. There is a tape that proves all of this but wouldn’t you know it? It cuts off before Smollett’s story is proven right! He’s got enough self awareness to realize that the media is not really on his side, either. “When I step back I can see the way that they’ve played the narrative, the way that they’ve served it to the people. But at the same time, I’m not really living for people that don’t believe,” Smollett says.

"Marc Lamont Hill sits down with Jussie Smollett to discuss his case, police corruption, BLM, and more. First, activists Aislinn Pulley and Angela Davis offer critical insights on the history of policing, abolition, and the broader implications of the Smollett case."

“From the very, very beginning it was set up to seem like I was lying about something or everything. And that has to do with the fact of the MAGA of it all,” he added. Hill was not going to let the MAGA comment slide and he wanted to know more. Smollett didn’t really have much to add to that part of the conversation and it was clear that he invoked the phrase for no real reason.

Anytime a liberal finds themselves in hot water, they hide behind MAGA. There were no follow up questions from Hill about all of the inconsistencies in Smollett’s story. This interview was not meant to provide any clarity about what took place that day. It was all about directing people to the open letter that Smollett wanted all of them to sign.

Smollett even went so far as to say that he did not need to convince the doubters of his innocence. It seems somewhat pointless to go through all of this, just to say that you have nothing to prove. Hill should also be taken to task for the role that he played in putting this whole thing together. This racial hoax is one of the most ridiculous things that we have ever seen and we hope this story can finally go away.

Poster Comment:

More tripe. Regardless if Smollet was set up or not, this is where the cops would break out the bright lights and rubber hoses to interrogate him.

Given he can still be prosecuted, he's not going to confess anything was a setup and "take responsibility".

Given he can still be prosecuted

IIRC, the Cook County States Attorney refused to prosecute him at that time. To reverse that decision now would open them up to some extreme protests.

Not too sure where Smollet stands with the black community, but his case is nothing at all similar to George Floyd's case. ;)

Regardless, it's still legally possible.

And I think he's under federal investigation right now, which is a whole new jurisdiction.

Being under investigation by the Federales brings it to a whole new level.

And the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois has a lot more power than the Cook County State's Attorney.

Just ask former Governor James R. Thompson about that. He cleaned up a lot of police and court corruption while he was in that position and it led to him winning two terms as Governor back in the 80s.

He was Governor when I got my job on Illinois State Highways.

We worked on his campaign for second term and when he won we were invited to dinner at the Governor's Mansion. It was a good feed from what little I recall of it.

When they retired to the residence that was our invitation it was time to leave.

You know the old saying, "You don't have to go home but you can't stay here." LOL

It appears that the City is under investigation to determine why and how charges against this idiot were dropped. That is why the FBI is involved.

And regardless of what's gone on before with the goofy state's attorney who recused herself, Smollett stands indicted on six counts of disorderly conduct for lying to the police which are still going ahead as another judge has ruled that double jeopardy does not apply in this case.

In addition the City of Chicago has a civil suit going (at the instigation of then mayor Rahm-never-let-a-crisis-go-to-waste- Emanuel) to recover costs arising from alleged false statements that Smollett made. They want triple damages. $390,000.

Shoulda stayed home, ordered pizza and knocked back a brew.

Smollett is going to have to chop a lot of cotton to pay off that one. ;)

Two white guys in Chicago wearing MAGA has is a far stretch for certain.

Someone told me I got my job at the State of Illinois working on Highways because I was with the Daley machine.

I told them they were nuts since I had been working with the Republicans and we had a Republican Governor at the time. ;)
