As addled as the University of Chicago's English Department is, their grammar is still good. At least they know how to place the modifier "only" properly, unlike Celine Ryan, the Correspondent Editor at Campus Reform, who writes, "The English department at the University of Chicago has committed to only (sic) accepting graduate students focused on Black Studies for the upcoming year."

We used to go in this little bar room in Chicago named Carol's Pub. It was a block from where I went to Grade School.

One night a buddy had parked across the street and was walking over to come in, A squad car with three white cops pulled up and hollered at him, "Come over here!"

He said, "Yeah! What do you want?"

One of the cops said, "What are you doing around here?"

He said, "I meet a couple of buddies here for a few beers. Why are you asking?"

The cop said, "Someone just shot three niggers over on Wilson Ave and we think he came over this way."

Carol's Pub had a particular crowd and the reputation that went with it.

They did have a pretty good country rock band too.

There were three Mexicans who sat at the bar. They called me Caballero Grande because I always dressed nice and never got in any fights.

One night a couple of black guys walked in a tried to buy beer with the old paper food stamps. The bar tender hollered, "Get the hell out of here." One of the blacks started to shoot off his mouth. The doorman was this stocky little guy with a beard and a biker chain for a belt. He knocked that guy out with one punch. The other ran for the door. He hit him in the back of the head. He fell against the doorknob and they threw them both out in the street.

The only way to explain that is blacks think beer IS food. ROTFLOL
