Being rather olde, I might add my humble apology for not allowing people of color the right and privilege of dying for this country in WWII. Out of a half million young Americans that died, only 728 were of color. That is outrageous racism and people of color should be allowed to die on an equal basis as we white racists.

Were Negroes not drafted at the same rate as Whites during WWII? Or were Negroes on average placed in less dangerous positions, e.g. non-combat roles?

There were a great many of them that were driving trucks on the Red Ball Express bringing ammo, food and gasoline to the front lines. ;)
