Yes, 104 is too high. I did have a problem on my first visit but not to this extent. I recovered nicely.
I was told today that Guayaquil was free of Malaria, but I'll double check.

Yes, it is here, but the spanish name is different which explains the confusion (I think the name in your PM is the name I heard). I've been improving since Sunday and am feeling today like I just have a cold. The fever is minimal now
No fever, no malaria
Just have a bit of strep. No biggie. Feeling fine now, except for a nagging chest cough that wants to hang on. Thanks for your concerns.

Just got word today on a doctor's reading of the various pages of the report (I couldn't talk to the doctor when I picked it up) and he said I also had Typhoid. That explains the 103-104 temp quite nicely (in textbook fashion).

It's an herbal anti-bacterial and supposedly anti-viral and anti-fungal too. I brought a nice big bottle with me when I came. I'll stick with it and get a followup test in a few weeks to see how things go. I read today Typhoid typically makes you sick for weeks or months but an effective medicine turns you around in days. So far I seem to be on that fast track.
Good news. You're young and strong, you'll probably work through it. But, please do seek more help if you have any doubts. I'll have to try some Olive Leaf Extract one of these days.

Apparently not.
Overall, things here are great, though I haven't been well the past week or so. I've had intestinal problems and over the weekend spent the time keeping my temp down from 40 degrees C (104 F). I'm doing better now, though I had a blood draw today to see if I've got the flu or something more serious. We'll see how Ecuadoran medicine measures up.
