Long after WWII, I became friends with a German immigrant that emigrated here on his own.

He was a a design engineer for Messerschmidt. His specialty was...engines...

Was it jet engines like the Me-262? ;)

He never mentioned anything specific.

He did tell me that in 1930s, when he graduated from college, his final exam was to design a four cylinder engine, to run on diesel fuel.

Rudolph Diesel (Munich) had already "invented" his namesake

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diesel_engine - interesting history.

My friend was Godson of Dr.Hjalmar Schact, lived with him much of the time. Schacht was head of German bank for Hitler.

In 1930s, Schacht, Fritz Thysen and Pastor Niemoller supported Hitler because the country was going into Communism, controlled by Russia.

Hitler had all three thrown in Dachau camp to be shot but guards refused.

Hitler was so mean.

He was also a dictator.

And remember one thing, the Joos had no troubles in Germany until Herschel Gryznspahn murdered Ernst vom Rath the deputy German Ambassador in Paris in November, 1938.

Up until this time Joos were allowed to leave Germany for Palestine under the Transfer Agreement.

After the murder of vom Rath (he was anti-Nazi) that event triggered the pogrom of Krystallnacht. ;)

LOL, NN, can you play bass?

IOW it was all the sheenies' fault from the word go.

It was all a tangled web.

And of course you do understand the Transfer Agreement allowed 60,000 German Jews to emigrate to Palestine. An arrangement was made with the Anglo-Palestine Bank to transfer a portion of Jewish wealth. A part of the deal was the Jews were to purchase German-made goods in return.

One hand washes the other.

That all came to an end in 1939 when Germany invaded Poland. ;)

It was overwhelmingly the sheenies' doing. I know it without even looking up the details -- you do too.

Linking to JewyKipedia is the best possible way to document this subject, of course -- the footnote I tried was to 'American Jewish Historical Society' >:-D

American Jewish Historical Society

And does that organization have a motive to distort history? ;)
