Trump Receives His Fourth Nobel Peace Prize Nomination – See Why

If the political left it to be believed, President Trump is the worst president and possibly even man in American history. They would claim that he is not only despised on a national level here at home but that his ruthless and demeaning outlook on life has left a bad taste in nearly everyone’s mouth worldwide, insinuating that Trump has done an excellent job of making more enemies than allies.

So is it then that he has received no less than four nominations for the world-renown Nobel Peace Prize and that all four have come from other nations?

That’s right; Trump has been given four official nominations for the most honored of the Nobel prizes.

The first was from a Norwegian Parliament member for the peace deal Trump helped arrange between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Israel. A Swedish Parliament member gave the second for the agreement worked out between Kosovo and Serbia.

And the third was provided by a member of Finland’s Parliament to Trump, Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu for the Israel-Bahrain deal.

It is essential to note that these three no longer count, as they were all given in the hopes that they would allow Trump to win the 2020 prize. However, the Norwegian Nobel Committee decided that someone else was more deserving. And we can’t say that we disagree.

Enter the World Food Programme.

According to CNN, the committee “described the organization as ‘a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict. In awarding the prize, committee chair Berit Reiss -Anderson noted the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on global food supplies and criticized the politics of populism…. The WFP, a United Nations entity, was created in 1961 and today provides food to over 100 million people a year.”

So with 2020’s prize given and to someone who did a great deal of good for the world, those who pinned Trump for the award will have to wait for a later date.

And it looks like they might not have to wait too long, as he has already received another nomination for the prize, this time for the 2021 year.

According to a Finnish member of the European Parliament (MEP) Laura Huhtasaari, President Trump is deserving of the award “in recognition of his endeavors to end the era of endless wars, construct peace by encouraging conflicting parties for dialogue and negotiations, as well as underpin internal cohesion and stability in his country.”

Fox News noted that Huhtasaari says Trump “has nearly completed a presidential term without involving the U.S. in a new foreign conflict while withdrawing troops from Iraq and Afghanistan. She also cited the Abraham Accords – peace deals between two Arab gulf nations and Israel.”

She wrote in her letter to the Nobel committee, “It is hard to imagine a president of the United States from the last decades, or a current head of state, who would deserve more the Committee’s recognition in 2021 than President Trump for his efforts to build peace in the world.”

And I can’t say she is wrong.

As noted above, President Trump has helped to barter several peace deals between nations long known to be at odds. And like Huhtasaari cited, he has also done well to keep America out of international conflicts, bringing more American troops in recent years than we have seen in decades.

And history has proved that men and women have received the award for far less, such as Barack Obama, who was given the award for merely winning the presidential election.

Sure, accomplishing that task isn’t exactly an easy feat, and as the first African American president, it was bound to be even more notable. But that also means that he didn’t really do anything. Any black American in the same shoes would have garnered a similar response.

On the other hand, Trump has actually done something, several somethings actually, to bring about peace. And not just in his own nation.

However, it’s still unlikely that the Committee will recognize a man as polarizing as Trump for the award, as he is far too much of a populist for most globalists who seem to sit on the Committee.
