Amazon has decided not to renew one of its oldest leases in Seattle. Amazon plans to move employees out of 2201 Westlake by December to other offices across the Puget Sound region.

Tech giant Amazon is taking additional steps to abandon Seattle, choosing not to renew its lease for the top eight floors of an office building in South Lake Union. The space reportedly totals over 180,000 square feet.

Rumors have swirled that moves like this were going to happen, but few predicted it would happen this quickly. And, a source suggests more actions by Amazon may happen in the coming months.

This is a video by a Bellevue realtor. Another one for the books -- it is specifically fat cats like Jeff Bezos that have promoted the 'liberal' policies that have ruined Seattle, Mpls et al., so it's white (and jewish and oriental) flight at the plutocrat schemer level.

Gliberals will never learn -- or shall we say they'll never quit systematically destroying one nice place full of white folks after another?

Chicago levied the $4 Head Tax on Chicago businesses with more than 50 employees. This led to major businesses leaving Chicago for the suburbs.

The Head tax went from 1973 to 2012 when Rahm Emmanuel phased it out. Too late for jobs that already were long gone. My sister worked for Aetna Plywood and they moved out to west suburban Maywood.

When I was young I worked with a plumber. There was an old plant on near north side where they made lamps.

When Chicago start the Head Tax they moved out to NW suburbs. There was a rail siding that was alongside the building with loading docks. There was a hole in the concrete between the rails and a 12 inch water main running thru there. It froze in subzero temps and broke. It flooded the boiler room and put out the heat. The whole building froze. I was in there with the plumber and we were replacing P-traps on sink drains and toilets and faucets in bathrooms. We replaced a lot of pipe fittings too.

The pipe fitters were replacing pipes with the fire sprinkler system.

It took us a couple of weeks or so to finish the job. We replaced a lot of pipes in the walls. The water system even had return lines for the hot water system so you did not have to wait for hot water and it was hot right away. ;)

No. The building was empty except for some finished product that was being stored there. ;)
