Think the German 6th Army surrendered at Stalingrad on 2 February 1943? Well, not all of it - over 11,000 German troops fought on for weeks afterwards! This is the largely unknown story of the Stalingrad Holdouts.

It's interesting how the replay of the WW2 propaganda film discussed how Stalingrad was held so proudly by Russians as though the Soviet Union was a wonderful ally.

As for the Germans, no one can blame them for not surrendering, and no wonder why Germans preferred to surrender to western forces. They had a tough time.
