The former governor, however, continues to find a way to be re-elected into positions and circles that can no more depend on him than a dog can depend on a skunk not to spray them. While Romney has never made any secret of his disdain for President Donald Trump, he has at least consistently claimed to be a fan of the Republican Party, of which Trump definitely the ranking official in the nation (as well as arguably the ranking official of anything, in the whole world). Romney has, however, seemed to allow his distrust, disenfranchisement, and general disgust with the president to allow him to turn his back on his Republican constituents by throwing his support behind Bidens claim to the Oval Office and denying that Trump has reason to be concerned over voter fraud in the 2020 election. The Utah senator addressed the issue while speaking to David Axelrod on The Axe Files Thursday. The failed presidential candidate said he believes Trumps claims of voter fraud were something that he decided he would believe in before the election took place, and that theres no evidence that has been presented to support the presidents legal teams claim. At this stage, we havent heard any evidence of a widespread voter fraud effort that would result in a change in the outcome of the election, Romney said, according to the Daily Mail. Romney was contradicted by the host who pointed out that the president has been making the case on Twitter, as well as, presumably in the courts through his attorneys. Romney, who is apparently surrounded by others who dont believe in the president or his case, seemed surprised at the idea that people believed the presidents claim. Im surprised that there are as many people as you say that give it credibility even within our own country because the president said before the election that if he were to lose, it would be because of voter fraud, it would be because of corruption, he said. And then a day or two after the election, when the vote was called by the major networks, he indicated that there was massive fraud and that he had been robbed of the victory and that was before any evidence has been gathered. Its one thing to charge a crime before you actually see any evidence. Normally you find evidence, and then after seeing evidence, then you reach a conclusion about whether or not there was a crime committed, he added. But I understand the president is not happy with the result. Hes entitled to pursue his legal remedies. But I think in all likelihood its pretty clear that Joe Biden will become the next president. Romney was one of the first longtime REpublicans who congratulated Biden on his premature claim to the Oval Office when the mainstream media attempted to hand him the winners trophy just days after election day when an incredibly close voter tally was still hanging in the balance. Ann and I extend our congratulations to President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, said Romney. We know both of them as people of goodwill and admirable character. We pray that God may bless them in the days and years ahead, Romney tweeted adding in his wifes well-wishes. For his part, the president hasnt wavered in his pursuit of an accurate count, and his attorney Sidney Powell said of the results on Thursday that This is stunning, heartbreaking, infuriating and the most unpatriotic act I can even imagine for people in this country to have participated in any way, shape, or form. And I want the American public to know right now that we will not be intimidated Powell went on. We are going to take this country back. President Trump won by a landslide. We are going to prove it. Poster Comment: Romney was the ONLY Republican Senator to vote guilty in the recent impeachment of Donald Trump. Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread
