In the shots, he’s sitting on the very top of the ladder using a long pole to manipulate some branches, and straddling the ladder—one leg in the air—adjusting tinsel. “A: Santa’s lead flying reindeer B: wife trying to get rid of me before Christmas,” he cheekily captioned the post. Tim McGraw has been skydiving and Rocky Mountain climbing, but trimming a Christmas tree may be his most “Live Like You Were Dying” experience yet. When affixing the topper and stringing garland requires a ridiculously tall ladder and some fine-tuned gymnastics, the task grows from festive to dangerous, fast. The country star shared a few photos of the escapade (presumably snapped by his wife, Faith Hill) to show just how massive the tree is—and the hoops he had to jump through to decorate it. In the shots, he’s sitting on the very top of the ladder (hands-free!) using a long pole to manipulate some branches, and straddling the ladder—one leg in the air—adjusting tinsel. It’s a good thing he works out a lot, because that must’ve taken some serious agility and balance. “A: Santa’s lead flying reindeer B: wife trying to get rid of me before Christmas,” McGraw cheekily captioned the post. He shared the photos to Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. Placed in front of some towering floor-to-ceiling windows, the tree far surpasses the chandelier that hangs in the middle of the vaulted room. And for perspective, a regular-sized ladder appears next to the giant one McGraw climbed, and it looks like a miniature version in comparison. Fans and followers got a kick out of the singer’s caption, and also adored the elaborate albeit hazardous decor. “If Faith upped the life insurance I’d double check that ladder before climbing Tim. 🤣 🤣🤣🤣,” one fan commented on Instagram. “Also your tree is the most gorgeous and I am of course kidding.” “This is giving me so much anxiety lol,” another added. “Beautiful! You must not be afraid of heights! Yikes 😳,” another wrote. Someone else said what we’re all thinking: “I can just hear Faith saying ‘a little to the left’ 🤣.” Although Christmas will look a lot different than usual for many this year, the McGraw-Hill household is clearly trying to make the most of it.
