I knew this guy in suburban Chicago who was an electronics whiz kid.
He converted my old 23 channel CB into a 40 channel unit before the CB channels were officially expanded. Then he peaked and tuned the unit.
I used to shoot skip off the stratosphere years ago too. I got some neat QSL cards but those are lost long ago. :-/
