The gov cannot ban bitcoin, or crypto in general. At least not for little people. That would require cutting them off from the internet and the gov cannot do that either.
Even if true, it wouldn't matter, as crypto developers can make it not possible for transmissions on the net to be trackable. ISP's would see encrypted data going back and forth, but they don't know what purpose it serves. That's the case right now. Relay that data through an anonymous point and no one knows where it's going either.
Then there's the issue of people using internet access points they don't own, such as in a restaurant.
