Staring pay for a college graduate who scored higher than the other 99.99% of the civil service exam takers is $769 a month. There are 2,080 hours in a 52 week year working 40 hours a week. 12 months at $769 a month is an annual salary of $9,228. To calculate how much that civil service elite administrator is making just divide $9,228 by 2,080 which gives us $4.44 or hour. A story about south India in the 1950s.
