A Nigerian priest who condemned Irish supporters of same-sex 'marriage' has sparked a debate about whether the Irish should accept African priests at all.

The search results start with a true classic case -- the above. When Catholic Ireland is too liberal for oogabooga priests from Africa there's something drastically wrong.

This business of white 1st-world churches looking to Africa for cover smells really bad. Are there none available in Asia, which would theoretically mean more common ground with, for instance, these Irish parishes?

As soon as disaffected and disgusted Episcopalians (USA) and Anglicans (rest of the 1st world) got their own dissenting denominations going there was INSTANTLY a global move to Aficanize them. It was and still is Uganda this and Congo that. It was fanatical and wall-to-wall with no precedent in religious history and no explanation ever -- and of course no pew-sitters have ever questioned it.

It distinctly felt like "Oh, GOD, we're all WHITE PEOPLE doing WHITE THINGS and you can't have that -- it's racist! QUICK, GET US SOME MELANIN!"

They didn't say anything like that, but it's the exact upshot and these things dont just happen -- do they? You read one of their newspapers and it's "Look what the bishop is doing in Africa!" Or India or wherever. Not "Bishop articulates basis for separation in Scriptures" or "Governing board prepares resources on how the communist Jews co-opted the churches and seminaries."

No doubt it's the case with any independent (or confessional' or 'continuing etc) Lutheran or Catholic churches out there as well..... Oh yes, those Irish. I don't know what the answer is, but Africa can't be -- and I hop they see that before it's entirely too late. A Fango or Tutsi in the pulpit too easily translates to an Angolan or Botswanan in the family as brand new son-in-law -- or mayor, or police chief.

Turn about is fair play.

The Irish sent thousands of priests to Africa and now the Africans are returning the favor.

“I am not one of those weak-spirited, sappy Americans who want to be liked by all the people around them. I don’t care if people hate my guts; I assume most of them do. The important question is whether they are in a position to do anything about it. My affections, being concentrated over a few people, are not spread all over Hell in a vile attempt to placate sulky, worthless shits.” - William S Burroughs

OMG

....but do you think today's Africans know that -- or care? It's odd -- of all the sickening rhetoric you hear from ameriKan gliberals or the invaders from around the world, the one justification they never give is the most obvious and sound: ameriKa tortured and raped those countries, people from them have every right to return the favor.

Thank Zeus they don't :-s
