RAISE A GLASS TO THE GREATEST PRESIDENT OF OUR LIFETIMES by Mark Patricks January 19, 2021 I spent six years of my professional career working to get a pro- America nationalist president elected in this country. That effort started in 2010. In 2012, after Roger Stone held a meeting with a group of Trump insiders to try to launch a Trump 2012 campaign, I’m proud to say that I wrote all of the initial commercials for that effort (which sadly didn’t get off the ground at that time). Oh, well. The victory in 2016 was that much sweeter for having failed earlier. There will be plenty of evils for us to confront in the years to come, one way or another, but in the meantime, let us raise a glass to the accomplishments of Donald John Trump as his first term in office comes to a close. President Trump inherited an economy that had an average unemployment rate of around 9% for the previous eight years. Within just three years of Trump’s leadership, the unemployment rate had plummeted to just 3.5%. That was the lowest rate we had seen in 50 years. To put it into perspective, Democrat governors had to lock down their states’ economies entirely for months on end in 2020, just to bring us back to the average unemployment rate of the Obama- Biden years. Trump "Still My President" Collectible Coin! Trump’s pro-America, pro-jobs approach to governing made every American life better. Employment rates for blacks, Hispanics and women have never been higher than they were under President Trump. Manufacturing jobs began pouring back into the United States, all thanks to President Trump. America had suffered a net loss of manufacturing jobs under the Obama-Biden administration, due to open-borders globalism and “free” trade run amok. President Trump beat the holy hell out of Obama’s paid government employees in ISIS. Once that threat was settled, he went about brokering peace deals between Israel and five Muslim nations. Every prior administration dating back decades had promised to try to do that. Trump did it. The greatest president of our lifetime managed to build 450 miles of new wall construction on our southern border. This was despite no efforts to assist him by a feckless Republican Party, even when they controlled both houses of Congress. Republicans refused to pay one dime to construct the wall, so Trump used his authority to divert existing approved funding. He got it done, despite previous Republican and Democrat administrations promising to do it and failing. As you may remember, Congress passed a bill in 2006 to build a wall on the southern border and President George W. Bush signed it into law. Despite a federal law, Bush didn’t get it done and the Obama- Biden administration never even tried. Trump did it. No matter how many times the fake news media and the neocons tried to goad President Trump into a new war, he didn’t take the bait. Remember when he was supposed to inflict mass casualties on Iran because they shot down a drone? Didn’t happen. Trump refused to authorize the strike and avoided a war with Iran. The world has more peace agreements in place today than it had when his first term began. Trump came closer to a peace agreement with North Korea than any previous administration. He met with Kim Jong-Un on North Korean soil, right at the border between North and South Korea. Trump took that mission so seriously that he learned Korean to be able to negotiate with Kim – and didn’t tell anyone! Donald Trump elbowed the NATO freeloaders around until they agreed to start paying for their own defense, as they were obligated to do under the agreement. One of my favorite moments of that point in the Trump presidency was when he tossed Angela Merkel a bag of Skittles and said, “Don’t say I never gave you anything!” As the leader of the wealthiest country in Europe, Merkel hadn’t been paying anything into NATO – what could she say in response? Trump defanged Obamacare his first year in office after his own party betrayed the voters. We were told for years that if we just gave Republicans control of the House and the Senate, Obamacare would be torn out “root and branch” – and then they reneged when we held up our end of the deal. Trump wrecked many of the worst elements of Obamacare, all by himself. He reestablished America’s sovereignty as a nation by canceling the Paris Accords, the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Iran nuclear deal. He rewrote NAFTA and other lopsided, anti-American trade agreements. And he did all of this while being impeached and investigated and hounded by the Mueller team, the entire Democrat Party, most of the Republican Party and the mainstream media. And this list only scratches the surface of everything that he accomplished in just his first term. On behalf of all Americans: Thank you, President Donald J. Trump! Bottom line - no more wars.
