That title is bass akwards on its face.
If Trump does form a new party, then it's members cannot challenge Republicans in R primaries, only in the general.
It would be a grave mistake, I say, for Trump to form a new party, as the vote system is only given to 2 parties. Far better to simply stay Republican and take over that party. These parties are simply political vehicles. Nothing should be inferred about political philosophy from the party name.

No matter what extremes may be exhibited by left and right or Liberal and Conservative, there is only ONE PARTY, the War Party. ;)

It would have to be a pressure group within the party. Notice Trump did not say what his plans were. He has to get past the trial in the Senate and all the other trials in the courts.
