4/22/2006 Jewish Heritage Month by Warren Erulian Marrano: A jew who becomes baptized or pretends to be Christian in their community, but secretly hold to their jewish faith and race when among their own kind. Next week ‘Marrano’ American President George Bush is expected to issue a proclamation making the month of May the annual Jewish Heritage month. A special resolution by Florida (democrat) Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz was passed through the Senate and House. Wasserman is preparing to announce Jewish American Heritage Month at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Jewish Museum of Florida in Miami Beach. Wasserman said she hoped to see school districts, museums and community groups working the way they did for Women’’s History Month to raise awareness about jewish contributions to American life. President Bush was the first United States President to make Hanukkah the annual celebration at the White House. At last year’s Hanukkah he had three rabbis brought in to oversee the cleansing of the kitchen and preparation of kosher foods. In 1998 Bush took his first public trip to Israel with Ariel Sharon as his personal tour guide. Bush described the visit as “one of the most meaningful experiences” of his life. During his election campaign Bush spoke in front of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. AIPAC, the acronym by which it’s usually identified, is the wealthy jewish lobby group with several key leaders currently up on charges of spying against the United States. The Presidents speech came just after he finished visiting the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles, California. He had toured the holy-hoax exhibit and signed their guestbook, “God bless this world!” White House spokesman Blair Jones said, “The president recognizes the importance of celebrating jewish-American contributions to the nation.”
