But he's a Vulcan...

Eunichs?

Or is it a "pull my finger" type thing with them?

I am not at trekkie - I was pursuing other interests at that stage of my life, if ya knowwhatImean - so I am clueless about the Vulcan mating program.

Here's more info that you probably ever wanted to know about Vulcans ;P

Pon Farr: Vulcan mating ritual:

"The Vulcans are a peaceful, serene people, dedicated to pacifist values and a code of behavior ruled by logic, and control over their emotions. But there comes a point in a Vulcan's life when that veneer of rationalism is stripped away, and a primal force takes over. This is the Pon Farr.

Pon Farr is an ancient drive that impels the Vulcan to return home to take a mate, or die. Pon Farr brings with it a neurochemical imbalance that leads to erratic behavior in the Vulcan — nervousness, sleeplessness, outbursts of anger and violence... he can even become unaware of his actions. It's as if huge amounts of adrenalin are pumped into his bloodstream at once, and if nothing is done about it, the physical and emotional pressures will simply kill him.

Pon Farr is seen as a deeply personal experience. Few outworlders know of its existence and Vulcans do not usually speak of it even among themselves. They shield it with ritual and custom shrouded in antiquity.

This exclusive video documentary looks at the little we know about this mysterious aspect of Vulcan culture and biology."

Sounds like modern America to me; at least from what I can tell.

This still does not explain why Spock wouldn't be laying the wood to the blonde, though.

I'll check in tomorrow for the denouement to this thrilling non-love story.

Cheers, everyone.

AAARrrggghhh - that's awful

At least Shatner didn't take his singing "career" seriously. You could tell that he at least was taking it over the top for a laugh. But not Nimoy. No, this guy fully embraced the singing profession with even more zeal than Don Johnson did in the 1980's (I think Nimoy and Johnson could really compete for the "Worst Music Video...Ever." Award).

While Shatner would do anything for a laugh (and a paycheck) Leonard Nimoy recorded not one, not two, not three, and no, not even just four...but FIVE(!) albums. Some of the titles are just as embarrassing as the music, sporting such names as "The Way I Feel" and "The Touch of Leonard Nimoy."

I don't know what I find more disturbing...that he thought enough of his own singing "talent" to record five albums, or the fact that there were enough people with disposable income who were more than willing to spend it on the four prior efforts to merit a fifth album.
