That's a stretch. I wonder how you're supposed to finish whittling the things out of the SS stock. You still might need an M-16 type bolt carrier, disconnect and selector to make it work.

Looks like a bottle opener to me.

If the outline of the thing is only printed and not etched, it can very arguably fall under first amendment protections. Freedom of Press.

It kind of looks like it's partially laser cut.

I forgot, the hammer on a full auto AR is different. It has a tit on the backside that engages bottom of the factory auto sears. The top of the AS engages the bottom of bolt carrier rocking the works and dropping the hammer when the bolt is in battery.

I can't exactly see their thinking, but it seems pretty flakey. That might be good for biscuits, not so much for guns.

Here's a cool animation how the AR platform works. The 3 shot burst nonsense is stupid.

I lost interest at "the M-16 Assault Rifle..."

Franklin Armory needs to seriously ramp-up their binary trigger production lines.

Sorry if the terminology offended you. I know a little bit about Eugene Stoner's work, dating back to the AR-10.

Best I can recall, the big bugaboo with the AR-15/M-16 was that some "genius" in the pentagon spec'd out ball powder rather rather than the IMR powder that Stoner knew worked. As I understand, the ball powder burned too slowly and plugged up the gas system jamming the rifle. Hence the normally useless "forward assist." That may have had some utility in some really dirty combat conditions, regardless, the cart was in front of the horse.

Got a lot of fellas killed in the 'Nam, but cooler heads eventually prevailed. I don't remember the history of the .223 Rem/5.56mm changeover.

Gov't stupidity run rampant, not we've seen anything like that before...

I got rid of my AR-15 sporter for just that reason. The subsequent changes are not being discussed !

not we've seen anything like that before...

At the end of WW II, all of the guns in storage on Guam, stacked 4 and 5 pallets high were sent to Vietnam.

The French were defeated at Dien Bien Phu by American weapons.

I know this from reading about Col. L. Fletcher Prouty. He was an intelligence officer during the war. He also flew the plane with Chiang Kai-shek on board to Tehran, for the Allied war summit November 28 to December 1, 1943. But Chiang's presence there has been written out of the history books. ;)

The .222Mag was/is clearly superior to the .223, but "lost" the competition and the Armalite Rifle was/is high-maintenance compared with the AK-47. A micro-Draco was a recent inventory addition here.
