Someone had plans to open a Marijuana growing facility in a shuttered grocery store here. They had State permits, but the City refused to give them a business license because of the churches and schools in town.

I live in the Bible Belt and everyone here is holier than thou. :-/

They need jobs here and they have lost the grocery store and two manufacturing plants in last several years. And a place named Cap's Cabin on the square shut down about a year ago and moved to Kansas City.

Then the City wants to start a new industrial park in the area they put in a bypass road when they were rebuilding a bridge over the RR tracks on outskirts of town. What sort of businesses do they think they can get to come here and build plants without significant tax breaks?

Their logic boggles the mind. :-/
