Just the other day I (NN) was trying to school a birdbrained longtime friend (a dumb blonde by her own admission) in racial basics. Like me, she's lived in both north and south but thinks Dixie is more bigoted, simply from having it pounded into her head all her life. If she and her hubby had a puter I could send this to 'em and really seal the deal. Yes, friends, you're about to see how 'racist', 'prejudiced' and 'discriminatory' yankees can truly be -- not from the era of Oregon's white supremacist founding (1859), but a Mike Wallace show dating from our own earlier lives. The noble northerners who swarmed down at that very time to destroy the Southern social order and foment permanent race war here prove reluctant before your very eyes to sell their houses to a model Sidney Poitier-type negro couple.
You're about to see the great-grandchildren of the Grand Army Of The Republic lying and maneuvering around selling their homes (or realtors showing them!) to members of the African-American community. Excuses used will shock your socks off, e.g. "I can't do this to my nabers". Prepare to be appalled, saddened and disillusioned -- I'm trying to be "politically correct" here >;-D
