Today was a terrible, horrible no good, very bad day for the prosecution, to a degree that I haven’t seen since the trial of George Zimmerman.

If you have no more than an hour to watch the video of today’s proceedings, then I urge you to spend 44 minutes watching the cross-examination of state witness Johnny Mercil, the state’s use-of-force training expert, and 22 minutes watching the cross-examination of Nicole MacKenzie, the state’s medical care training expert. In both instances the result can only be called a train wreck of a disaster for the prosecution.

Indeed, after the judge dismissed Mercil from the witness stand, Prosecutor Schleiter appeared visibly shaken and angry—and he ought to have, given the mauling his case just received. At one point Mercil testified the he himself had personally kept a suspect physically restrained until EMS had arrived on scene, behavior which the state has been arguing for over a week was misconduct on the part of Chauvin.

As your attorney I advise you to load up on psilocybin mushrooms and ether. Shoot the first target that appear to take on Chiroptera forms. Repetitive 11 - 212 kHz outbursts are the trigger. Keep a steady aim, they have an advantage in the dark.

EXPLAINER: Did Floyd really yell, 'I ate too many drugs?'

STEVE KARNOWSKI Wed, April 7, 2021, 6:02 PM·2 min read

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The defense attorney for the former Minneapolis police officer on trial in the death of George Floyd tried Wednesday to show that Floyd yelled "I ate too many drugs” as three officers pinned him to the ground.

Attorney Eric Nelson didn't get the clear confirmation he was seeking, but he may have planted a seed in jurors' minds anyway as he seeks to sow reasonable doubt about the prosecution's case against Derek Chauvin.

Part of his strategy for defending Chauvin against murder and manslaughter charges has been to deflect responsibility for Floyd's death last May 25 away from Chauvin — a white officer who prosecutors say knelt on the Black man's neck for 9 1/2 minutes — and onto Floyd himself for using illegal drugs. An autopsy found fentanyl and methamphetamine in his system.

But no trace of shrooms. Chauvin is clearly guilty, as pointed out in the brilliant legal thesis once presented by Johnnie Cochran: "If he ain't seein' bats then that be thats!"

If it seems like I am making a mockery of this whole shitshow, you are correct, I am.
