Pilots know everything. I used to be one for awhile.
(Edit) Shit happens as pilot-in-command. I could tell you some scary stories. That's why I always carried a little pliers in my flight bag, I could tune the NavGear that had broken knobs.
Still didn't prevent me from accidently flying into controlled airspace.

FWIW, I was flying into Willow Run, south of Detroit, I think. That was back in the bad ol' days before GPS.
That's another good question. I spent 40-some years as a 24 year old and all the sudden folks are telling me that if I don't "cool it" I'll end up paralyzed in a nursing home.
