A nearby restaurant that my wife and girls frequent just cut the days and hours they're open -- because they can't hire enough help to keep the place open. Nobody needs to work when she's collecting $600-900 per week in state + federal unemployment. Under the new covidispensation unemployment recipients don't even have to pretend they're looking for a job.

Interesting. Do people pay taxes on unemployment money? If not, that would make it all the more attractive.

Is this how hyperinflation starts? People have plenty of money but no where to spend it because no one needs to participate in the workforce?
