So, I reached the end of the road with Amazon yesterday.

Last year during the Plannedemic, I used Amazon more or less the way I always had, and they always seemed to be quite good at making sure I was able to get my stuff in a timely fashion. Only once did I have any issues, and it was because my stuff arrived on a Sunday just as I was leaving the house and only caught it because it was on my front porch where I could see it instead of inside my enclosed porch. No big deal, a day early and I caught it. Then sometime later in the year, I started to have irregularities.

This coincided with Amazon’s roll out of their own private delivery service where they now have their own drivers deliver packages to people. I would see delays upon delays, sometimes not get packages delivered within the time frame I needed, and of course, sometimes finding my packages not delivered at all that would show up the next morning, even though they were supposedly delivered.

In February of this year, I was supposed to have a delivery show up in the afternoon and watched the time progress after every hour there was a new delay until I was getting notifications that the driver was 10 stops away. Then 5 stops away, then 3 stops away. Then nothing. I waited and could see where his truck was on the virtual map, it was at the bar a few blocks from my house. Then I see the truck update after a half hour there, and it is heading south back to base for the night. I was livid as I needed my stuff that day for a job that I was doing, and after having watched my stuff be delayed a day, then delayed multiple times during its delivery time frame, I became incredibly fed up. As the last 4 deliveries prior to this were either mis-delivered, did not get delivered at all, or I had to go and search for my package to see where the brainiac left it, considering my enclosed porch is right there IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE.

So after that experience I dumped all the add ons I had with my account. Amazon Prime, Amazon Music, Kindle Unlimited, and gave myself a time out. I was not going to buy anything from them, but was going to leave the door open to the possibility that maybe they were having a problem and maybe I was simply being irritable.

After months of not having to use Amazon for anything, and being able to buy whatever I needed directly from the other vendors, I was pretty happy. UNTIL… The parts I needed to fix my ailing vehicle were only available through, you guessed it… AMAZON.

Not happy with the fact that I was about to go back to the bar I got beat up in, I ordered from them thinking that this should not be too difficult, the Planndemic is over, people are working hard again, it should be fine. PLUS, it was coming from an AMAZON warehouse, that was local so, this should be no problem at all. It takes them 5 days to get one package moved from one warehouse to another, that were only 30 miles apart. Then I waited most of yesterday to see when it would actually be put on the truck. I resigned myself to the notion that I would probably be seeing it the next day instead of that day, but sure enough, it was out for delivery and it arrived well within the time specified.

Just one problem. It was no on my porch. I got the notification that it had been delivered and I was on my porch when I got the notification. I walked out my front door, looking at where his truck should be and noticing that he was at the corner, and not at my house. This brainiac tells me he put it by my garage door in the alley, instead of the front porch because he could not find my house. I am at this point apoplectic as the sheer idiocy on display by this driver brought out all of my built up anger and frustration that had been sitting on a low simmer since February when I had to deal with the bullshit from their drivers the last time. I then explained to this moron just how fucking stupid he would have to be, to believe that I would be so ignorant to think he could not find my house, when he was capable of finding my garage, in the alley. My neighbor who had a guest over yesterday got to hear me tell this guy how goddamned stupid he was and how stupid in general it is to leave people’s packages in an alley for anyone to steal.

As I walked around the block to get to my garage, I saw one of my neighbors eyeing my package and walking over until they saw me then they darted back around the corner. I got my package and then stormed through my neighbor’s yard to get back to my front door. I opened my very wet package, and while the contents of the package were fine, I was not.

I checked my Amazon account to see what instructions this Toolbag had to follow to get to my house which is on a prominent street. My house is not hidden from view, and then I read the overly complicated instructions some other driver put in there. I see the words “Leave Wherever” in front of my one sentence instructions “Leave inside enclosed Front Porch.”

Suddenly I realized that the last 5 deliveries had some fuckery behind them, and I became even more angry than before. After calling customer service and getting someone in another country, I asked that I be transferred to someone in the United States because yelling at someone who won’t understand my profanity is not something I want to add to my day. I also told this person that they were nice and were not my problem, an American was my problem and believed that they suffer enough already without me adding to it. She laughed and then transferred me to someone in the states. I then asked for a supervisor because what I was about to do was going to be so unfriendly that they were not paid enough to listen to me.

After they tried to salve the wound with a 10 dollar credit to my account, I told them to keep their money I am not going to be ordering from them ever again as I recounted the previous 5 deliveries, the problems associated with them, and my discovery of the notes added to my account. I was then transferred to a different supervisor, another ESL type who I then had to mansplain everything all over again, and told them that he was taking the hit for someone higher up and was not getting paid enough to deal with someone as angry as I was.

He then sends me an e-mail afterwards to try to fix things, and by that time I had already completely dissolved my association with amazon completely. All the kindle books I bought, the movies I had, and all the data they accrued of my spending habits, all now gone. Deleted. Though I am sure they probably made sure that all my data is in some server farm at the NSA. I cut the cord completely and will never again be their customer and why?

Because there are people within that company who apparently can alter your instructions, and create problems to add a level of stress to your buying experience that is completely unnecessary. When I saw what was done, I wondered why it was that I had so many issues and after seeing it with my own eyes, I know without a doubt that Amazon likely has people within it whose job is to harass customers, selectively. My neighbor across the street has never once had a problem with amazon, nor have any of my other neighbors, just me. At least I know why, and am absolutely without a doubt DONE with that company.

Never again will I be their victim.

I did notice one thing. All of the problems I had with Amazon, happened after January 2021. Coincidence??? I think not.

I live on a dead end street. One neighbor was ordering quite often from them last summer. The drivers kept getting lost down on my end (the end) of the street. UPS and FedEx never have had the same problem.

I haven't ordered from Amazon for well over a year. Just refuse to give them my business.

Could it be a MSP area problem? To date, the bezos crew has exceeded all expectations for all aspects of their business with me.

No, in my area, it seems to be just me. All my neighbors had packages stolen off their porch, but at least they got their stuff without any trouble. ME? Since January of this year it was nothing but bullshit. I took a 4 month break just in case it was a me thing, and it turns out it was someone fucking around. They re-wrote my instructions, so instead of ONE sentence that said “Leave Inside Enclosed Porch” it was some kind of clusterfuck on how to get to my house with the last sentence being “Leave Anywhere”.

It seems to me that there might be something going on behind the scenes.

Truly bizarre, but I do believe you. I've never noticed any place for specific instructions, other than the option to get the goods at one of their ever-multiplying pickup locations.

The Nextdoor neighbors around the area have trouble with the ubiquitous porch pirates, but since my command center office faces the street/sidewalk, I have a perfect view of any delivery vehicles that roll up.

I very seldom use AMZ, but I've noticed problems of late. I just write it off as being broken, like everything else in the country, post Bidet.

I never knew amazon had a cord, I've never ordered anything from them.

They have apps on your smart TV, your security cams, Kindle software, kindle tablets, they are pre-installed on every cell phone, every other tablet, if you have any smart device, chances are you have an Amazon back door in it somewhere for compatibility.

I deleted every damned thing that connected me in any way to that company.

I own none of those things.
