Detroit

We used to make produce deliveries in Detroit. It was always a midnight delivery time.
The produce house was off by itself and not near where most of the markets were located.
One night I was sitting on side street waiting to get into the dock. This black girl walked up to the truck wanting to talk with me.
All of a sudden four guys came running off that dock. They beat the crap out of the black chick and a black guy that was sneaking up on blind side of truck.
When they finished they threw them both out in middle of busy street.
I hollered after them, "ARE YOU GOING TO LEAVE THEM THERE?"
They answered, "Darn right we are. You KNOW what they were going to do to you." :-O
After word of that got around, no one else went over there screwing around either. ;)

I rolled into the wrong neighborhood in Kokomo one night, several hours past Miller Time. Was probably thinking I could score some weed. Suddenly my car war surrounded by like five or six spooks, was pretty sure they weren't there to debate pros and cons of Alice Cooper Killer I had playing on 8-track. One of them opened the drivers side door, so I kicked it open as hard as I could and floored it, knocked Jarquaviius on his ass. Pretty sure they were thinking car theft was better than walking.
This was 1980's, before cell phones and Ben Crump.
