Samantha Vinograd, the new acting assistant secretary for counterterrorism and threat prevention in the Office of Strategy, Policy, and Plans at the Department of Homeland Security, is a former CNN analyst who says the thought of Americans preserving their heritage makes her “sick.”

In a March 2019 interview with CNN, Vinograd attacked President Trump for speaking at CPAC about the significance of preserving our heritage.

“His statement makes me sick, on a personal level,” Vinograd said. “Preserving your heritage, reclaiming our heritage, that sounds a lot like a certain leader that killed members of my family and about six million other Jews in the 1940s.”

When comparing Trump to Hitler, one can be said that Hitler loved his country and his people.

I am of the mind that America being America, and its ability to persevere is only as good as those who remember when America was in fact, still America.

In 1976 I was a child enjoying fireworks on the 4th of July. In 2016, 40 years later, My city of Saint Paul, along with Minneapolis stopped putting on fireworks displays citing that it was not in the budget. Since that time, no more fireworks at all. The only people who are enjoying fireworks, are the citizens who let them off in their back yards.

There are still Americans in this country, and we remember when we were still free.
