Why not a Hispanic national anthem or an Asian-American national anthem. What about a native American national anthem?

I won't be watching any games.

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - According to, the NFL is planning to play the song "Lift Every Voice and Sing", which is referred to as the Black National Anthem, in addition to "The Star-Spangled Banner", before what are being termed "tentpole" events in the 2021 season.

It's unclear what constitutes a "tentpole" event, but that will likely include the NFL Playoffs, the Super Bowl, and the NFL Draft.

The NFL has not commented officially on this.

I'd hope they would limit that song to a few events.

I won't be watching any games.

Used to, but not any more. Not in a long time.

I've known a number of young people that have sustained serious injuries playing HS football. Injuries to joints and such as well as neurological damage - some of it long term.

It's like professional boxing. Watched a fight once that ended with one boxer in an ambulance on a final trip to the ER.

I wonder if these sports are worth it, and whether any of them are a worthy adjunct to an education.

The wife loves baseball. I stay up with her on the games, standings and stats.

Being a white racist,I tuned out pro and college sports long long ago when they turned black.

Seven foot basketball players, 300 pound football linemen and baseballers that whacked the ball out of the yard.

My mother loved baseball. She was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan.

If they have a different National Anthem, they are a citizens of different nation. Time to deport.

“I am not one of those weak-spirited, sappy Americans who want to be liked by all the people around them. I don’t care if people hate my guts; I assume most of them do. The important question is whether they are in a position to do anything about it. My affections, being concentrated over a few people, are not spread all over Hell in a vile attempt to placate sulky, worthless shits.” - William S Burroughs

Yeah well, we try to maintain some love for whatever traditions we still have left after the cancel culture tramples all over our shit.

Baseball is afflicted with the least of the wokeness that going around & I love me wife more than the way most sports have sunk into the mire.

("Guardians" not withstanding.)
