Physically, I feel good, Im in shape. Emotionally, that kind of varies on the time and moment, she told Hoda Kotb on NBCs Today Coming here to the Olympics and being the head star of the Olympics is not an easy feat, so were just trying to take it one day at a time and well see, Biles said. It was unclear if Biles will defend her gold medal in Thursdays all- around competition. Russia won the womens team gymnastics event on Tuesday following Biles shocking withdrawal. The United States finished second for the silver medal, while Britain won the bronze medal. The United States had been seeking its third straight gold in the womans team event. Team USA last won a silver medal in the 2008 games, when China took the gold. Simone has withdrawn from the team final competition due to a medical issue, USA Gymnastics said in a statement . She will be assessed daily to determine medical clearance for future competitions. Prior to that announcement, however, NBCs Monica Alba tweeted that the 24-year-old had not been injured and was having what her coach termed a mental issue. She's only 24 years old, but up close she looks 50. She's apparently been pushing herself too hard. Probably should take a break. The Olympics can be mentally stressful. Look what it did to Bruce Jenner.
Classic. Godfrey Smith: Mike, I wouldn't worry. Prosperity is just around the corner. At age 24, she is to old for womens gymnastics. After age 16, it is all downhill. She has an outstanding run but should have retired after the last Olympics.
