The NBA just got more woke.

It’s going to drive some fans nuts.

That’s because Barack Obama took a new job that had LeBron James grinning from ear-to-ear.

The NBA’s woke politics are going global.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced that Barack Obama joined the league as a strategic partner to push “gender equity and inclusion” in Africa.

“We are honored that President Obama has become a strategic partner in NBA Africa and will support our wide-ranging efforts to grow the game of basketball on the continent,” Commissioner Silver announced. “In addition to his well-documented love for basketball, President Obama has a firm belief in Africa’s potential and the enormous growth opportunities that exist through sports. NBA Africa will benefit tremendously from his engagement.”

The NBA boasted about how it plans to ruin basketball in Africa with woke politics and social justice protests.

“We have ambitious growth plans for NBA Africa and having President Obama join our efforts is a recognition that through sport, Africa can take its rightful place on the world stage,” NBA Africa CEO Victor Williams declared. “We look forward to working with President Obama and our strategic investors to use basketball as an economic growth engine across the continent and as a platform to improve the health and wellness of one of the world’s youngest and fastest-growing populations.”

The NBA ratings for the just-concluded finals drew ridiculously low ratings.

Ratings were up compared to the 2020 finals, but that was misleading because those were in the bubble with no fans.

Compared to 2019 – the last time fans were in the building – ratings were down significantly.

The NBA did tremendous damage to its brand by going all-in on Black Lives Matter and anti-Trump protests.

Instead of correcting course, the NBA is doubling down by getting even more political.
