Godfrey Smith: Mike, I wouldn't worry. Prosperity is just around the corner. Mike Flaherty: Yeah, it's been there a long time. I wish I knew which corner. My Man Godfrey (1936)

I met a nice young gal today. She's scarred up with tats. I'll fade away. I miss real women.

The one thing I have liked the most (loved) here on earth is music and can't think of anything that has had the same effect on me. Making long trips seem shorter, sad days happier, and much more ! Thank God Almighty for ears and music !

When we lock and load fully prepared to dismantle the deep police state and to suffer the consequences ... I'll be listening to this and letting the good times ROLL !

not fade away ~ stones cover the crickets, seven years later, and nail it
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron. ~ H. L. Mencken
I was in Cap's Cabin a few years ago when they were at 17th and Gulf. This girl walked in wearing a Rolling Stones T-shirt.
I asked if she knew the Hell's Angels worked Security for the Rolling Stones at Altamont, California. They did the job for 300 cases of beer.
I saw a video of that show and those guys were mean. Their bikes were parked down front. One of them said, "When they (the crowd) came over the tops of our bikes we beat them back."
Part of the vid shows a black guy with a pistol that was silhouetted by a white blouse of a girl in the crowd. Not sure what ever happened over that incident. ;)

When I drove big trucks for IWX they were looking for drivers over Thanksgiving holiday. Since I was single I said I would go out. They sent me east.
I got to a truck stop in Indiana. They had a big feed on the buffet for Thanksgiving. All you could eat for $9.99. It was turkey and stuffing with cranberries and yams plus all the trimmings including drink.
I scarfed out and went to the truck and went to bed. ;)

I can recall one time I pulled into a rest area and popped the parking brake right in front of the building with rest rooms. I ran inside and just made it to the toilet.
Some Security guard stuck his head in the door and started to bitch about I was not supposed to park out there. I hollered at him it was an emergency. When I finally emerged he was still bitching.
Some people just need a good knock out to get the right attitude in life. ;)

We were working a concert at Medusa's. That was a juice bar on Sheffield about a mile south of Wrigley Field in Chicago.
It was on 2nd floor and the roadies and local crew had to move all the equipment up and down a stairwell.
Many of the band members were pretty young and they needed a chaperone. That was usually Mom.
I was standing in front of the speaker stack and an older woman comes from back stage. She looks right at me and says, "You good looking man. If you're staying in town, you're staying with me." Then she kissed me right on the lips.
That was the last I seen of her. I figured she went to the bus and passed out. SHEESH!

I loved concerts and music from the time when my mom would listen to Fats Domino and dance around the house. I liked the music and the race thing was never part of the equation. Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Johnny Mathis, Louis Armstrong (Satchmo), Otis Redding, and etc.,
