British lawyers are leading moves for a war crimes inquiry into the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen on behalf of hundreds of victims killed in atrocities in the country.

Guernica 37, a London-based human rights chambers, is today submitting evidence to the International Criminal Court (ICC) of three alleged war crimes where more than 140 Yemenis including children were killed and in some cases tortured.

The lawyers are urging the ICC to launch an investigation into the alleged crimes and are exploring the possibility of issuing international arrest warrants against the military leaders of the six year war as well as bringing class actions against them in Britain and the US.

The evidence has been drawn from survivors, their relatives, and families of those murdered in three incidents which have already been investigated by international NGOs.
