The gun had to be part of the script or there would have been serious weeping and gnashing of teeth over its mere presence.

When I lived in Chicago, one guy was going to get nose to nose with this big Puerto Rican.

A littler Rican stepped out from behind the big one and shot him once in the Solar Plexus.

He took one step and fell over dead.

We got even with them for that one. ;)

The gun was part of plot but why did Baldwin fire it. Was he following the script or just getting the feel of it? If part of the script, why did the director and cinematographer get hit rather than another actor?
