I've come to believe that if no one paid income tax, they'd just keep printing $$$ and things would be just as they are, except we'd have a lot more consumer spending to support the clown-show.

Velocity kills that. I wrote about that. When people expect inflation, they run out and buy before prices rise. That means Biden can print $10 trillion but prices will rise a total of $20 trillion. MV = PT. M is Money. And V is Velocity or the number of times in a year the total money supply changes hands. When people turn their money over more frequently, the same M can support much higher P Prices. The people can collectively decide that prices are running away so I will buy what I can with my credit card and pay for it on my next payday.Prices could easily double in 2 years without increasing the Money Supply M by more than 20% a year.
