The manager of a small-time UHF station (Weird Al Yankovic), which has the lowest ratings in the country, inadvertently hits it big with his strange programming ideas to keep Channel 62 from going down the tubes.
This film is dedicated to Trinidad Silva, who was killed by a drunk driver midway through production. Had he survived, this film would have developed the character Raul Hernandez a little more, such as the fact that he was a postal worker, and would have included a scene involving the revenge of the flying poodle "Fifi", who was unmercifully thrown out of a second-story window. The scene with the attacking poodles was actually filmed using another actor doubling for Trinidad with stuffed poodles attached to his body and covering his face, but the scene was cut.
